Quick healthy breakfast ideas and schedule tips for early mornings?

Already thinking ahead to the fall when my kid will be entering middle school (7th grade where we are). Currently, her elementary school starts at 9:20am and she can walk, but she'll have to leave the house by 6:30am to catch a 6:45am bus. She prefers to shower at night so that will be one thing off her plate early morning, but I'm curious for those of you with kids with similar early schedules, what time they get up and what they eat for breakfast that's easy and healthy?

My two boys wake up at 6:15am, get dressed and brush teeth, then head down for breakfast...
- Fried eggs and toast
- Bagel and microwave sausages
- Oatmeal and fruit
- Plain yogurt with granola on top
- Toaster (or frozen leftover) waffles and fruit
Then they pack up their backpacks and head out the door.

I have a habitual breakfast-hater with an early schedule, and I've tried it all. I've occasionally tossed a Clif Bar at his back as he walks out the door. Foods from the rectangle food group seem to be the only thing he'll consume in the morning. It's better than nothing.

I make ahead and freeze breakfast sandwiches, quesadillas, and tortilla roll ups (I called them taquitos and my Latino husband laughed at their size!). I make a bunch and wrap them individually. Then just microwave about 2-3 minutes in a paper towel.

If leaving at 6:30, I'd have her eat on the way.

But honestly, I'd look for a different school that starts later. It's elementary school kids who should be getting up at 6:30. Tweens and teens need their morning sleep.

Unfortunately all of Fairfax County middle schools start at this time, other counties too, I imagine. My oldest is starting middle next year and doesn't even wake up for elementary until 8am - Our whole house is dreading the change!

Many weeks I make a dozen muffins or scones on Sunday, then my kids grab one or two on the way out the door. I also make bags of cereal they can grab.

I got my teenager a nifty little breakfast sandwich maker for Christmas. I keep ingredients stocked and he can make a sandwich in 5 minutes. Usually English muffin, an egg, cheese, and avocado for him.

Home made muffins or baked oatmeal.

My middle schooler doesn't have to get up quite that early, but I try and do some kind of home made food that is super fast in the morning

Things like

Oatmeal or quinoa or grits in the crockpot with various things to mix in.

Baked oatmeal -- one kid eats a slice in a bowl with milk, the other holds it like it's a brownie and takes bites

"Egg muffins" with smoothie (I freeze the egg muffins, and just dump the smoothie ingredients -- usually yogurt and fruit into the blender in the a.m.

Whole grain frozen pancakes or waffles (from a double batch I made on the weekend) spread with peanut butter or something else. I have learned that my kids and syrup in the a.m. inevitably means heading up stairs to change their clothing. So, we'll eat it on the weekends in their pj's but not in their school clothes.

Then you should petition the county to change their timing. Elementary schools should start earliest and high schools should start latest.

Not PP but I have the Hamilton one available on amazon and it works great. I also have an electric egg cooker that will make poached or hard boiled eggs in minutes, and kids can easily operate either of these appliances
Independently.
