| Is there a problem at your private HS? Honest answers. |
|
Of course. Every school. Anyone who says different has zero clue.
Money = drugs as well as no money = drugs in school. |
| Is anyone of the schools known to have it worse? Varying degrees? |
Well it’s always been true: higher the pressure higher the students. Party on. |
| Curious about Field? |
| 2 years ago my son had a shadow day at Gonzaga. He came home and asked me what was Aderol. Apparently kids would share it around exams. |
| There is so much pressure in this area high schools that drives kids to use drugs for their own sanity. |
| Biggest drug schools are GDS and Field. |
+1. And GDS parents are in denial about their precious angels, but that’s what happens when you’re raised by nannies. |

Thanks to those of you trying to answer.
My kids are in public--6th and 8th and I haven't heard of a drug issue at our MS. I think there was one vape incident. I have heard at our HS level it is a bigger problem. The HS my kids are zoned for to a lesser degree, but their rival HS is well-known for a big issue (and it is predominantly rich white). I know of a few kids in rehab now. My oldest is applying to private HS, not because of any of this. We are looking for a smaller grade size and more rigorous academics. I only asked the ? because when I mentioned one of the schools he was applying to a mother told me it had a big drug problem. It's not one of the schools mentioned so far. Frankly, this woman tends to make blanket statements without much merit. She also told me my kids' MS had a big bullying problem and kids were getting beat up walking home from school----which was completely NOT true. |
Oh please. We are not a GDS family but it is safe to say a lot of kids in the DC area have or had nannies. |
What locations work for you? |
100%. Definitely a problem at sidwell and sta/ncs too, but gds especially is on a different level |
| What type of drugs? |
So you could say GDS kids are “leaders” when it comes to drug use ?
