| Anyone there and watch several different matches in different age groups? I never saw this before but the refs seemed to be clearly biased in favor of all Alexandria teams. I am not the only one that felt this way. Any others? |
| no your just mad your team lost |
My son's team actually did not lose. |
It was hard to look past the last poor coaching to see the poor refereeing. |
| Our team came from Maryland and we thought the refs were very fair and we beat an Alexandria team to win the final. |
I thought that was a DC club at the armory. Why is Alexandria going there? |
My kids play in their Futsal league every winter and the refs have always been fair. Fwiw, my kids are not ASA players. I think most parents do not know the Futsal rules so they think a call is unfair because they don't understand why it is being called. Futsal rules are very different from outdoor soccer and "regular" indoor soccer. Congrats on the win. |
| the real question is how much money did Alexandria put in their pocket? |
| I had a child in U9 and thought the refs were fair and clearly explained the rules to the players several times. I think my child played in the same bracket as the Maryland team, so maybe we just had a good set of refs. And, my child’s team didn’t make it to the finals, so I am not bused by the fact that my child’s team won. |

Nothing like paying $10/day to park at the DC Armory. Thanks, Alexandria.
That's on par with a speed camera ticket in Poolesville en route to play at a flooded horse farm. |

The Refs were consistently inconsistent.
You also have to take into account parents know so little about the game and about what constitutes a foul. I just laugh when I hear a parent cheer for their kid, not the team. So easy to see why coaches and refs have a difficult time. |
Maybe the refs were just bitter because they had to pay to park. |
Maybe. But maybe they get to expense that back to VA Futsal? Refs for Futsal at a small tournament like this are hit and miss. You'll see a lot of the lower level Refs that don't do as well. I had one ask me a question when I was keeping time about a rule. I just laugh at the quality of some. |
| Alexandria just hosted the largest Futsal tournament in the DC/MD/VA area and you want to find fault in one of the sites they utilized charging $10 to park? Are you kdding me? its at the DC Armory, a major DC Events location that also is metro accessible and had plenty of on street free parking. I did not pay one time as I parked on the street and walked an extra block. Maybe stop blaming a club for what you know nothing about except want to blame anyone and everyone for your lazy ass convenience. Instead of realizing how good an event that was you found fault in DC charging for parking. Get a life and move on. NO club or tournament needs your complaints and nonsense |
Looks like Alexandria staff is back on the boards. I bet they’ll have this thread taken down shortly... |
