I am on the FET bandwagon again and want to hear about what foods and drinks you consumed post-successful FET.
I had pineapple (plus its core) and soups for my transfer that worked. I also drank decaf tea (which I heard you're not supposed to do). |
My first successful, a Krispy Kreme donut. My second successful (ended in miscarriage) a Krispy Kreme donut. My third successful (second live birth), a Krispy Kreme donut. I did not have a Krispy Kreme donut following my last transfer that ended in another miscarriage. I’m teasing a bit, but my point is that other than staying away from alcohol and large amounts of caffeine, I believe all that other stuff (no cold water, pineapple core, etc etc)- and my clinic agrees- is a load of it. If it makes you feel better about the transfer, more power to you. But you’re not going to have implantation failure because you drank a bit of tea. |
| I have no memory of what I ate. |
| No idea. I did take baby aspirin though. |
+1 |
| With my second child, I remember we went to an Indian lunch buffet after the transfer! |
Is this supposed to assist in the implantation of the transfer? |
| I've had three transfers, the last one worked. I don't remember what I ate. But yes did have baby aspirin. That's pretty common pre and post transfer. |
Aspirin is a blood thinner, it helps implantation (allegedly). Since it is so cheap, many doctors just throw it in just in case. |
It helps with blood flow, and helps women who have immune clotting disorders like MTHFR. Often women who benefit from BA can also benefit from Lovenox. |
Huh. Like other posters, I don't recall at all. I have done many fet's, two successful. Have no idea. But I can tell you what I did, what I read, what I meditated to... But not what I ate

Nothing right away, I passed out for a few hours then woke up and we went to the local Friday night fish fry in Barbardos
(we used BFC) and I had a grilled fish dinner. |

This is the OP. I had two previous transfers and both led to BFPs. Did what I eat make a difference? Probably not but why not start things out right? And after the trials and tribulations of IVF, I always want to feel like there is nothing to second guess...
I just had my transfer and here is what i ate last time and what I am adding: pineapple core (I like the way it tastes so why not?) chicken noodle soup seeds (e.g., sesame and flax) bone broth pomegranate juice diluted with sparkling water I am sending positive thoughts to everyone going through IVF too.... |
| I just ate healthy, like I was already pregnant. I ended up pregnant and did seek out non-alcoholic beer early on, which was odd because I'm not really a beer drinker. I don't believe in the pineapple type hype but I maintained my activity levels (mostly hikes; my RE is very anti-bedrest post transfer since it impedes circulation) and I used guided relaxation, meditations, and my spouse doing acupressure to help me focus and relax. Good luck! I had success with my 1st and have one other...trying to stay optimistic as I wean my toddler in preparation for a (hopeful) sibling. |

Whatever I wanted.
My successful cycle was at the end of several unsuccessful ones, so by that point I'd given up thinking there was anything I could do by way of diet/exercise/rest/stress to impact success. Good luck! Hoping by now maybe you've gotten a positive? |
