| She had yellow flowers shipped from Holland fot her BFF's birthday. Unless they came on a full passenger flight that just happened to have room for her dam flowers, that is such a waste. Think of the Carbon emissions involved to get the flowers here. You know what would look just as nice? Clip some evergreens and maybe do some clippings with red berries. Too bad if Gayle only likes yellow flowers. I thought Oprah cared about the environment and climate change. |

If there were no customers and people stuck to in season gifts, it would save us from a lot of Carbon emissions. In winter you decorate with winter plants, pine cones, etc. It's simple. |

Flowers are shipped to the US from Holland and Amsterdam and other European regions literally every day. I highly doubt that Oprah's bouquets were, like, strapped into the seats of a private jet. Her special flowers were in a cargo hold right next to the flowers headed into the United States for other purposes anyway.

Well, I must be a horrible person. I love tulips any time of the year and fruits from other countries when ours are not available. Yes, I am horrible for paying a fortune to buy cherries in the winter. I do recycle,limit water use use and drive a hybrid.

Celebrities should publicly show how they can live glamorous and luxurious lives with minimal climate change impact. So, I agree that she should be criticized, along with others who do this and worse. |
