| She had yellow flowers shipped from Holland fot her BFF's birthday. Unless they came on a full passenger flight that just happened to have room for her dam flowers, that is such a waste. Think of the Carbon emissions involved to get the flowers here. You know what would look just as nice? Clip some evergreens and maybe do some clippings with red berries. Too bad if Gayle only likes yellow flowers. I thought Oprah cared about the environment and climate change. |
| Huh? You think the shipper chartered a special flight just for Oprah’s flowers? They would have been shipped on a cargo ship/plane along with a ton of other stuff. |
+1 |
| There is no need to shop flowers from another country. Doesn't matter the plane had other cargo. If rich people didn't do this bullshit, that plane would not have flown. |
| Aren’t the majority of the flowers sold in the US shipped from other countries? |
|
She has been a Climate change hypocrite for a long time. She lectures people about it and then does as she pleases.

Yes. |
If there were no customers and people stuck to in season gifts, it would save us from a lot of Carbon emissions. In winter you decorate with winter plants, pine cones, etc. It's simple. |
| Wait till Greta finds out. I hope girlfriend starts naming names and telling these celebrities they better shape up! |
|
Flowers are shipped to the US from Holland and Amsterdam and other European regions literally every day. I highly doubt that Oprah's bouquets were, like, strapped into the seats of a private jet. Her special flowers were in a cargo hold right next to the flowers headed into the United States for other purposes anyway.
I've been to Alsameer and it's amazing to see the bidding wars over hydrangeas! |
| Yet everyone on this board thinks it’s perfectly okay to ship Reuben sandwiches from Michigan to all your friends around the country? Now who’s the hypocrite? |
|
Well, I must be a horrible person. I love tulips any time of the year and fruits from other countries when ours are not available. Yes, I am horrible for paying a fortune to buy cherries in the winter. I do recycle, limit water use use and drive a hybrid.

A selective environmentalist, when it suits you. How nice. |

Celebrities should publicly show how they can live glamorous and luxurious lives with minimal climate change impact. So, I agree that she should be criticized, along with others who do this and worse. |
