Why does a man tolerate a cheating wife

So, I heard of a local doctor in the NOVA area who tolerates a wife who cheats on him. She has a boyfriend right now who she flaunts in front of him, and during their first & second marriage, she cheated multiple times, moved out many times, had a child with one of these men, got divorced, and then came back to him and actually got re-married to him. Phew! I think I have that right. What kind of man would tolerate this? Take out the possibility of an open marriage. Discuss! It's an idea that is so perverse that it fascinates me.

If they have kids, because he will more likely than not lose the kids and often get every other weekend and maybe one week day in less she moves away and then at best one holiday and 1/2 the summers.

Sure, but in this case it's a man tolerating a cheating wife. In this particular instance. And no, they do not have children together. The wife's daughter with one of her previous boyfriends is his step-daughter.

My SO (I am not interested in marrying) has told me that he knows the other guy will become hooked and he has no intention of cutting himself off from what he enjoys. He seems to kind of get a thrill from it.

I know one man who has stayed in a marriage after his wife cheated twice on him. It was because of the children and it was financially better for him to stay.

Another I know of stayed because she was a nymphomaniac who would have been wild in bed. Even after she moved out to live with the other man he was still trying to get her back. That and he had some weird obsession with each women that left him. He literally stalked them until he got back with them or eventually he moved on to the next female, so he was mentally unstable.
