In how many years you suppose those harmful trends will be phased out from
the surface of fashion?: - Make up - Hair coloring - Nail polish - Deodorants and perfumes - waxing - sun tanning - high heels - tights
feel free to date the phase out and add more... |
| Not in my lifetime. I enjoy all of these except for tanning. |
None of the above in bold are "trends." People have been doing this since ancient time. Cleopatra colored her hair and wore make up. Suntanning is hardly a trend either as people have worked outside for milennia. |
| None of these are trends and none of them will fade out any time in the next 100 years. |
| Please let’s not ever phase out deodorant. |
+1,000! |
| My tights are going to kill me? Who knew. |
| I like all these trends. Makeup helps my frawn lines not be so apparent. |
Who is this troll inducing fear and saving the world, one thread at the time?
|
literally loled |
| Troll. |
| I am curious about tights, too. OP, could you elaborate, please? |
| I thought the only people wearing tights were girls as part of their school uniforms. That is the last time I wore them. Catholic middle and high school. Do women wear them? |
Are you new to this forum? Many here insist that the only way to cover your legs when you wear skirts or dresses in winter is tights. Pantyhose are frowned upon. |

I think most of this will stay around. Here are my predictions:
— waxing—at least in its current extreme form, this is a fairly recent trend that will hopefully die out. — high heels—have been on the decline for a while and I think will continue to do so, especially as people move away from car travel and towards walking and public transportation once we finally move away from the car culture that is killing us and our lplanet. - tights — again has been on the decline and will continue to do so as people look for more comfort and as skirts stop being “expected” business/dress wear for women. I think a lot of women my age wear tights as a vast improvement over the idiotic pantyhose our mothers and grandmothers wore, but our granddaughters will probably just wear pants or bare legs if it’s hot out. The rest will stay because humans like to decorate themselves and always have. I predict more men wearing things like makeup. |
