Who here still watches Sister Wives?

TLC plays with the timelines too. Just because the week’s show “looked” like it was Dec 25, doesn’t mean it actually was. Maybe Meri went to see Leon for the holiday.

I’m not tuned in to the current season… ate the wives on speaking terms with each other?

Can you really get all those kids to pretend to have Christmas over and over again for cameras. Robyn's kids seem a bit slow on the uptake and wouldn't be able to do it.

The current season is still from two years ago, oddly. It looks like Janelle and Christine are close to each other. I'm sure they still talk to Meri, especially since she's left Kody now, but they were never that close.

So, he put the burden on them to leave, while he made it clear that he favored Robyn and wanted to have a romantic relationship with only her.

I think Meri is sticking around to be the thorn in his side and remind him of his responsibilities. She won’t give him what he really wants, which is freedom to live a traditional marriage with Robyn. I think Meri is the only one who is really committed to plural marriage as a religious vow.

I see Janelle that way, but not Meri. Meri has been unhappy and wanted out for a long time. She was planning to leave with "Sam" but when that situation got exposed for what it was, she crawled back basically begging for forgiveness because she didn't have the confidence to leave on her own.

I agree about Kody though. After Robyn joined the family, he checked out on the other wives one by one starting with Meri. I threw up in my mouth a little in the last episode when Kody talked how hard it was to have to tone down his sexual/romantic tension with Robyn in front of Meri.

Kody strikes me as the kind of person who always has to be mad at someone. At some point, I think he'll probably turn on Robyn too because eventually she'll do something to disobey or displease him.

Yeah Robyn will feel the burn too at some point. This guys repeats cycles
Over and over.

Or he’ll make her choose between her kids and him when they don’t do exactly what he wants.

I like how Christine explained how she still considers Janelle her sister wife. I love that she has a good bond w both sets of kids.

And the line of “I don’t think Robyn ever lived plural marriage.” 🔥

Janelle and Christine are the only “wives” with a real sister wife friendship especially now that they don’t have to share a husband. I can see them being close the rest of their lives

No, that's an easy one.

There is a lot of truth in that statement, though. Robyn’s previous marriage to David Jessop was monogamous. Kody elevated her immediately to favorite wife and then ultimately first wife status. Robyn never lived in the multifamily house with the other three wives and their kids. She had a separate house from the beginning for her and her kids. He has only lived with Robyn and her children since the pandemic in a house they both own. I don’t see any real plural marriage in Robyn’s life.

Did anyone here see last night's episode?

It seems more and more clear that Kody just has no self awareness.

He seems to have decided at some point that he just didn't want plural marriage any more, but he didn't bother to tell his wives straight out, he's just rejecting them one by one.

Perhaps because he dragged them on a show called Sister Wives and then changed his mind about whether having Sister Wives was even a good plan.

He seems more and more clueless and intentionally cruel as time goes on, but I don't think he's intentionally cruel, just really bad at being a mature adult and rising above his basest instincts.

I wonder if another problem in the Sister Wives world of polygamy is that, since men are deemed to be inherent leaders and knowledge keepers he simply never learned to look at himself and examine his motives and actions. Especially in a divorce, that seems key.

Everyone likes to blame Robin, but she was just doing the same things the other wives did: ask for more time with Kody. Kody was the one who had the moral obligation to make sure things were fair and he simply didn't care to.

The eye roll here is unmerited. The real answer is that Leon didn't want to be on the show and so he's simply not. What the relationship is like between Meri and Leon is really no longer any of our business, if it ever was any of our business.

Yeah, he’s incredibly immature and self absorbed. Has no interest in learning from his mistakes.

He said it was awkward having Meri there at Robyn’s house for Christmas because they had to restrain themselves. I’m sorry- what? On Christmas morning y’all are going to be doing things in front of the kids? You’re a grown man and she’s your fourth wife.

The earrings story was also very interesting! I’m surprised I hadn’t heard that one before.

I just watched this week's episode. Agree with anyone/ everyone who says Kody has no self-awareness. At the beginning of the season, he made some kind of comment about the non-relationships with Janelle's boys being on him also, as the dad. On last night's episode he said Christmas was the way it was because Janelle and Christine had denied him having relationships with his children. He's changing his narrative, though that's probably his delusional reality, in order to save face and be the victim of all these wives he's rejected. Poor Savanah didn't even get a Christmas text or call. It's fascinating and sad to witness, at the same time.

I hope he watched this episode and realized what a total jerk he was being to Savannah.
