Sidwell has never been a football "powerhouse" despite the article.

I'm sure the alums are happy with the record. A .500 season is cause for celebration at Sidwell. But look what happens when they play a mediocre team - they lose by 35 points.

The school touted a possible championship for Sidwell on their home field. The game ended up being a 48-0 lead for Flint Hill, a mediocre football program.

LOL.

Congrats to Sidwell football. While not a great team by any means, the AD did a good job scheduling a bunch of cupcakes. Mix in a few decent players and a very down year for the MAC, and it looks like Sidwell is going to win the MAC this year.

The team has a terrific QB who will be around another year.

Or maybe they are as good as Potomac and Flint Hill?

The team actually has three or four stud players this year (QB, LB/RB, SS), a stout set of linemen, and really good skill position players. The fallacy is that any school with 60 boys in a graduating class could consistently field a great football team, unless that is their sole mission (see IMG Academy, Montrose Christian). There will be up years and there will be down years.
