This is the funniest post in this entire thread. Underdog team beats #6 in a wild game and laxdad63738 posts “Barely.” from his porcelain throne. Thanks for the laugh. |

Top Ten
1. Bullis - Beating the #6 team in the country on a neutral field 2. Paul VI - STAB win more and more impressive 3. St. John’s - Culver looms but only a 3+ margin gets them back to #1 as C is lower ranked than H and SP 4. Georgetown Prep - surprising lack of offense 5. Good Counsel - opportunity to right the ship on Tuesday 6. Landon - the fogo situation will cause at least 4 more losses 7. Episcopal - might break into the top 3 of the IAC 8. Heights - season just getting started 9. Gonzaga - likely 3 more coming 10. Public - there’s only a few crossover games to compare HM STA - can't score goals to stay ahead of EP Top Publics maybe - Yorktown, Independence, Madison, ??? |
| Edit: Culver was probably ranked too low at the beginning of the season as games are played. Spalding loses, CH loses, Culver beats St. Anthony's, Chaminade plays too close to LB. They won't jump Haverford in the national ranking with a win over SJC. |
Neutrals Top 10: 1. Bullis - massive win yesterday over national power Haverford. Bullis looks like a very complete team this year despite depth issues. 2. PVI - the win over STAB this week looks even more impressive after STAB beat the piss out of Spalding yesterday. 3. SJC - we will find out how elite this Cadet team is after the Culver Game on Tuesday. 4. GP - The Hoyas looked absolutely lifeless yesterday against Episcopal Academy. EA is supposed to be very good this spring but they aren't. Haveford or Malvern. 5. Landon - Bears kept it close with national power Malvern Prep for the first half. Landon's faceoff woes continue. 6. Good Counsel - Falcons can score goals but struggle defensively. Huge test on Tuesday against Landon. 7. Episcopal - the Maroon are here by default as they have yet to play a quality opponent. They do have some offensive pieces, but little depth. 8. Gonzaga - The Purple Eagles have played a brutal non-conference schedule, the Eagles are very young this year, and I expect them to be a different team come April. 9. St. Albans - a strong goalie will prevent them from getting blown out. 10. The Heights - have the Cav's played anyone yet? |
| Not to pour cold water on Bullis’s victory, but Gilman also outscored Haverford in their varsity scrimmage. It doesn’t seem likely they had on to that preseason number 6 ranking long. |
Hold on to |
I was thinking the same thing. And Gilman isn’t that good this year. Big shakeups coming from pre-season rankings. |
I think Gilman might surprise some people if they can work out some consistency issues but they definitely are not ranked. |

You say what you will about the Bullis victory and try to take away all you want.
It was a tremendous test for this team and again shows the solidarity and chemistry these young men have. The last few years has really tested this program and it's relationship with the school administration. Coaches have this team buying into the system where the last several years there has been no buy in and a bunch of individuals, no team and too many parents involved. Bulldogs have a great commit, at every single position on the field. If they stay healthy and I realize that it's a long season. they are the best in the IAC. Call them the tallest midget if you will but the banner they hang will be well earned and deserved especially for these upper classmen. |
Someone is way overinvested in their son’s team. Hope it works out for you buddy. |
| A few more weeks of games will fine tune this list. Need to see consistency from teams to make a good list. |

Not sure why people take much emphasis in scrimmage results.

Anyone making this comment on this board registers a negative number on the self-awareness scale. |
Just first half results when both teams are playing their top lines. |
Don't disagree. Bullis is playing well right now. But they have flaws, as do most teams this year. I am not sure they have a "great" commit at every position on the field, but Dad's tend to by hyperbolic. Having said that, and after watching the film, they have a couple of real dudes who drive the O and D (28/17). A lot of the season left and they are really thin, so lets see if they have the same energy once IAC play starts. |
