What's your justification that the Cadets would be a 5 goal favorite over any the DMV powers (Bullis, Landon, GZ) this Spring? SJC can't win a face-off. They don't look much better than the first week of the season.

Well Landon had to come back to beat Gilman by 1 at Home. SJC beat them by 4 @ Gilman. We will see how SJC does Friday vs Severn. Landon only beat them by 2.

SJC lost to Culver 12-9. Gonzaga lost to the 12-7. Both Lost to BL by 1.

Bullis lost to St Paul's by 1. SJC also lost to them by 1 in 2OT.

Just using common opponent.

Gonzaga and Bullis matches up with SJC than Landon. Landon is 4th in DC area.

Just Facts not banter.

Are we really going to use this type of elementary logic?

Florida private school power, The Benjamin School beat McDonogh last week, 8-7... Landon 72 hours later, beat Benjamin 15-7. You really think Landon would be an 8 point favorite over McDonogh? Hell No. It would likely be a complete toss-up.

Cadets needs to win a big game and get over the moral victory non-sense. It really is exhausting.

I don't know who is better between Bullis, Landon, SJC and GZ. Its a shame that the IAC schools don't have the Cadets on their schedule but they all seem open to scheduling defending WCAC champ Gonzaga. Speaks is clearly not well respected by the local privates.

Mcdonogh sat 5 of their starters. Win doesn't mean shit. Play a real Non Conference schedule.

How many starters did SJC sit in their 4 losses?

6-0 when you include moral victories

13 game winning streak loading.

Possibly, but the Cadets will have to get through 2 committed fogo's at DM and GC. In addition, the fogo at GZ is not committed(??) but is the best in the league. They will most likely lose 80% of fo poessession.

Our fogo wasn't the problem Tuesday. We got beat on the wings. SA wings got every ground ball in the 3rd. This will get better.

Thanks FOGO Mom.

oh man got her, well done

Not that hard to coach when you have a team of players that should be in HS.

This got me thinking... why is a GP alum, a current Mater Dei teacher, coaching at Landon? I find this strange given the rivalry and history between the schools. On top of this, this individual, coached at GP for 20+ years under the Giblin era and is revered by the alums from the 90's and mid 2000's. He also built Prep into a national wrestling powerhouse at one point.

Not a Landon fan but their coaching staff clearly made an excellent hire when they brought Kubick on-board a few years ago when HOF Coach Bordley retired.

Prep has some great individual talent when you look at their roster. I am amazed they can't put the pieces together. Hopefully the players and the current staff can figure this out as their season is on the brink.

I’ve wondered about this as well. Landon is always so self righteous about their teacher coach mentor thing. Unless they need to win and can’t do it without someone else I guess.

Rumor is that MK is leaving Mater Dei after this school year and teaching and coaching at Landon in the fall. Best lax coach in this area. period.

Come on. What would he do without a squad of reclassed middle schoolers?

Landon invented the reclass movement in the 80s. They have just as many as Mater Dei.

Regardless of the outcome of the Bullis-Zaga game SJC is still the best team in the DMV and if any of the sorry IAC teams wanted to prove any different then they should have scheduled SJC when they asked.

It’s surprising that people don’t know that Landon was the first school to do this. I guess you have to have been around to understand what happened beginning in the 1990’s.

Mater Dei just did what they saw Landon doing. Understanding the history, it’s hilarious to read Landon supporters complaining about it. Their school INVENTED it!!!

Speaks doesn't want schedule an IAC team (Bullis, Landon, GP) in late March or April. Only proposes "open dates" the first week of the season. Get your facts straight.

Also the last time I checked, the WCAC title belongs to Gonzaga right now. Zaga FOGO will give SJC fits this spring.

It wasn't Landon. It wasn't Mater Dei.

It was parents realizing it gave their kids an edge and could afford to pay for it, it was (and is) a national phenomenon.

Who did it first in the 80s is an absurd line of conversation, but Landon vs Mater Dei (and Prep) arguments often are. In my view, they're basically the same schools, with different praying and country club routines.

Lots of 19 year old HS graduates in private high school lacrosse because of the socioeconomic footprint of the sport.

You mean the same kid who couldn't win a face-off in 2nd half vs Culver?
