NBC4 said it would be over by around midnight or a little before and drop about 1-3” additional of powdery snow.

I BETTER NOT SEE A SINGLE KID CRY ABOUT SCHOOL CLOSING FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR AGAIN- I AM SICK AND TIRED OF SEEING THEM CRY AND CRY AND CRY ON HOW THEY SHOULD BE IN 4TH GRADE BECAUSE OF SCHOOL CLOSRER BUT THEY ARE IN 9TH GRADE.

I’m assuming this is satire. Please let it be sarcasm.

I think it’s that Shelton guy from the Facebook comment section

NBC4 just said not to expect school before Friday but possibly Thursday. There's going to be no melting, which will help so there won't be refreezing overnight, but we got 10.5" where I'm at and according to the plow tracker online, less than 10% of roads have even gotten serviced even once. All the work has been put into keeping the main roads passable for emergency vehicles and essential workers.

Are you crazy? You don't need the snow to melt in order to go back to school, you just need the roads to be treated. Do you think the entire northern part of the country and Canada doesn't have school for the months at a time the weather stays below 32 degrees?
How long have you had kids in FCPS??? DCPS closed for Tuesday-they typically are open or under delay after one day closure. This means FCPS will most likely be closed Wednesday. It is just how it has always been. Entire neighborhoods not plowed. Refreezing at night etc….we don’t live in Canada nor have the manpower or equipment to clear snow. School buses also suck in the dc metro area. All school districts are closed so it’s not just FCPS

Why?

DP. It is good for the brain to shake things up a bit. Like taking a different route home from work is healthy for your brain.

Um, kids have been home since December 21. At this point school would be the change in routine needed to shake things up.

You’re so desperate. It’s fun to watch.

That was the first comment I made on this whole thread. We went on vacation somewhere warm in the middle of break, so we are good in terms of not being too stir crazy. But I completely understand why people want their kids back in school. That is the normal way to feel at this point after two weeks. This forum is not at all representative of normal. It’s full of overly anxious + miserable losers like yourself who feel the need to antagonize.

And they would be, if it weren’t for inclement weather. The whining is asinine.

Agreed. We are untouched and a pretty urban community. I’m sure those further out will take some time to dig out tomorrow and Wednesday. Def won’t be ready for kids/buses

WTF? No, school will be open on Wednesday. All the main roads are clear now, the neighborhood roads will be cleared tomorrow.

My money is on a two-hr delay for Wednesday.

Nah closed on Wednesday, will also close on Thursday so kids can watch coverage of Carter’s funeral.

The county already said we aren’t closed Thursday.

Fcps won't be closed for the funeral Thursday

Fcps will be closed on Thursday because of "ice" in Clifton and Herndon, as a pretense for giving a day off for the funeral

I live in Herndon, there is no ice, our neighborhood roads have been plowed.

I think it's really unfair that we have to stay home because people choose to live in but*ck nowhere. We really need to separate the county into separate zones.

It only took 56 pages for someone to suggest dividing the county.
Every s I n g l e year this is brought up. FCPS has studied/tried to work it out for years. There are too many cross county programs for them to do this. It won’t happen.

It’s not going to get above 30F until Saturday at the earliest, and will be 20f or below every night. Are you aware of what happens to plowed roads when it’s that temperature, or do you get your weather information from RFK Jr?

DP. I live on a cul de sac that seldom gets plowed. It's been plowed today. And, yes, it will likely ice over some tomorrow, but, I would plan on Wednesday--with a delay. Roads can be treated.

I think Wednesday is a toss up...def a delay but could be a closing. Enjoy the snow, cocoa, and games with your kids. Or stomp your feet and be angry about it.

Ok, I think being off today and tomorrow is the right call because this area doesn’t handle snow well, let’s be honest. But no one who is stressed about the weather closures is “enjoying snow, cocoa, and games with the kids.” They’re trying to work, as well as manage their kids at home after a very long 2 week break, and it’s stressful. Shades of 2020-2021. Let’s try to just get through this. If the second wave of snow tonight doesn’t drop too much and if it doesn’t drag on too long into Tuesday morning, I’m thinking positive thoughts for school on Weds with a probable 2 hour delay. I’ve been out shoveling and snowblowing all day and the snow is fairly dry/powdery and removal hasn’t been too difficult.

LOL.....I need popcorn to read your rant-so funny and dramatic. Next time use all CAPS like some of your teary foot stomping friends.

I think there’s one person responding to every post on here which is why the thread gained 4 pages of low quality replies in a matter of minutes. Maybe go spend some time with your family!!!!!111 why do you hate being a parent?!?!,!,!!!!

Nope. At least two. I didn’t make that post, but agree with it.

“Hate being a parent?” No, that would be the parents incessantly screaming about snow days. If you’re all so BUSY and STRESSED with your kids being home and/or needing childcare, how about *you* hop off the thread and go start dealing with that. Thanks.

There no way there will be school this week.
I’m Giant food and the roads are so bad. Even Route 50. I predict we are off for the weeks.

I just got on I can't make it through the first 45 pages but that last five.... the responses are so freaking funny! It's probably that Navy mom she was funny too.

Nah it’s you responding to yourself. PP is spot on. No one can stand being around you and you weren’t important enough to be working today. So here you sit. Loser.

So now you’re taking to at least three of us, calling names like a 6-year-old and stomping your impotent little foot. Classic.

So....can I ask if the SB has decided whether Carter's funeral on Thurs will be a no school day (federal holiday).

Or would the pro kids-must-be-in-school crowd really go crazy?

Wow....you have some serious issues. It's snow seek help. Your poor kids.

The person who needs help is the one sitting on here trolling. It’s really pathetic that a grown adult thinks that’s a good use of their time.

And here you are AGAIN.

Therapy. Get some.

I believe it would require a change in the laws of VA.
