The momentum will disappear. What happened it there's a lot of people that are borderline wanting to vote for Trump but don't want to admit it to pollsters/friends. Biden's senility gave them an excuse. After switching in Kamala, they don't have this excuse. It takes a while for them to come up with another acceptable reason to vote Trump.

She got the announcement boost, then the Tim Walz boost, and then the Convention boost. But that’s all over and the debate(a) loom large.

Well, one way is to make her opponent look like a fool in a presidential debate on national television . She baited him multiple times throughout the debate and he fell for it every time. All of the topics that he was probably warned to stay away from, she got him to rant about. I think sharks and batteries was the only one she didn't manage to get him to go on a tangent on.

She answered questions thoughtfully and most of the time, she stayed on topic.

The majority of media outlets and voters believe that she won the debate. And in swing states, she has continued to erode his appeal to the undecided and independents. Additionally, he has had a trickle of donations and she has had a bump in donations since the debate.

I'd say the debate definitely helped continue her momentum.
