You mean we’re supposed to hail Democrat politicians abandoning decorum? Their kids mocking the process by which citizens learn about the candidates? Democrat Dads kissing their daughters as if they’re greeting each other at the porch door rather than modeling this kind of behavior in front of hundreds of millions of people?

I guess you prefer to see GOP Dads groping their daughters on the convention stage?

What people forget is these so-called “GOP Dads” have generated jobs and careers and wealth for so many people. So they have earned the right to take some liberties from time to time, to enjoy the spoils and fruits of their labor so to speak.

Are you joking? It is a sick joke, if you are. If you are serious, I am sorry for your brain rot!

Yes, in years past the candidate wouldn’t arrive until Thursday. More recently there have been the surprise first day appearances like Harris did last night and Trump has done in the past. But no, it’s not normal for the candidate to stay in their seat at the convention the whole time.

Follow up question: what if their seat is really good for napping. Is it normal for them to stay then?

What's cringy about the married couple talking about their devastation having a miscarriage and then the bleeding wife not being given any medical care due to Trump's policies and judges. I appreciated a man (just like Tim Walz did re: IVF) speaking about how reproductive freedom for women is a man's issue too and will impact men. What's cringey about a young woman explaining how current abortion laws in some states wouldn't have allowed her to get an abortion despite incest when she was raped at 12: "how is it a beautiful thing for a child to give birth to her father's child?"

the best way to show how out of touch the GOP stance on IVF and abortion is to have people give their testimony of their lived experience.

not cringy at all

Agreed. It was powerful.

Perfectly normal. The candidate does not typically hang around for mundane convention business.

Milwaukee is pretty close to Chicago. She could go and be back by this evening.

Huh? What do you mean?! Sounds gross.

Yeah, I don’t get it. It’s like MAGAs have convinced themselves that they’re living in some alternate universe and are trying to drag everyone else into the hole with them.

Agree. And they're stuck on this vision which is frightening, angry and violent. It's just not that bleak. It really isn't.

Absolutely. And if the current anti-choice laws stand, within a decade every one of us will know---either firsthand or one person removed---of a pregnant woman who suffered similar dire medical emergencies during pregnancy---leading to death or loss of fertility. We are worse off now than in the 1960s because the new anti-choice laws are more draconian---with 99 year prison sentences for doctors who are deemed to have performed an illegal abortion. It is no wonder that suffering women are being turned away from emergency rooms and doctors are too afraid to follow what previously were well-agreed upon standards of care for pregnant women facing those emergencies. Why would any new recently graduated OB-GYN want to go practice in a red state?

Maybe I am the last person to realize this, but Inauguration Day 2025 is also MLK Jr Day. Obama was also inaugurated for his 2nd term on MLK day.

But it would be quite poetic for a minority woman to be inaugurated.

Did you see the delegate in FL section get escorted out when Joe was going to speak? This delegate from MI had held up a banner that read, stop arming Isr. Wonder if he will be allowed to return? typically you can't continue as a delegate.

It will be a lot sooner than a decade.

Bots are hitting your social algorithms; trying to manipulate you into having a false sense of reality.

There are no protests?

A healthy democracy will always have protests. If you don't like them, go live in Russia.

Pro-Hamas protests, just to be clear.

Pro-Palestine =/= Pro-Hamas!

Your lies are the reasons you are not taken seriously.

Some of the protestors are pro Hamas. Did you not see the guy interviewed yesterday? He said he was. Are you calling him a liar?

Democrats are mired in the past, controlled by their life long puppet masters who have been in their positions for decades and jealously guard the reins of power. Democrats would rather have a virtual corpse in a wheelchair (Dianne Feinstein) in office than have an unknown/new/young democrat elected.

What planet are you living on?

A planet where Mitch McConnell nodding off mid-sentence is not the same thing.
