Trump campaign death spiral

Sadly the Trump base is unmoved by anything which has occurred to date
They're still spouting his nonsense, in 2024

The real problem is who is his base? They are the Conspiracy Cartel. They are the Q-Anon who still believe that Hillary Clinton and John Podesta are the head of a cabal of Satanic pedophiles who have been at work since the 1990's. They are the MAGA Stop the Steal lunatics. They are the 4chan and 8chan incels. They are the militant domestic terrorist groups like Proud Boys, Oath Keepers. They are the Christian Fundanmentalists who believe that women should be controlled like Handmaiden's Tale. They are radical White Supremacists and White Nationalists like those who tarnished Charlottesville with their violence. They are the anti-Semites who attack synagogues.

They are the crazy fringe elements that Trump has collected under his canopy.

It's hard to believe that so many educated Republicans are willing to cast their lot with the Conspiracy Cartel. But, as Trump's slide into age-related dementia accelerates, more and more rats are fleeing the ship. Unless the Trump campaign can find a way to stop the bleeding, and stop Harris' accelerating momentum, he will be lucky to only lose and not lose in the landslide that it is currently looking like it will end up. Right now, he is losing his grip in 2/3 of the swing states.

FWIW, these are the "basket of deplorables" that Hillary mentioned. The regular "conservatives" and regular blue collar non-racist whites are the people that the Harris campaign are trying to bring into the coalition for this election.

Get rid of MAGA and platform for the "deplorables" and we can begin to get our country back on track.

And for the Trump supporters reading this, you are the company you keep.

It still baffles me how this group (the "basket" aka MAGA cult) was able to take over regular conservatives. I don't think I will ever understand it.

The question is, what was in the GOP emails that were hacked at the same time the Dems were hacked in 2016?

One side was weaponized and used against them in the public sphere. What was used for blackmail by Trump?

My unprovable theory that I’ve said here since 2016: that the GOP had been stealing elections (literally changing vote tallies) at various levels and for several election cycles.

It seems like this is just a big nothing burger. Maybe Trumpers will later say it's why he lost again.

ITA. Trump's own Election Commission found fraud, mostly committed by Rs. It's why he decommissioned the commission.

and

After the SCOTUS debacle in 2000 and then this Ohio stuff in 2004, anything is possible.

Remember, the Trump projection about voting machines are just that....projection.

So I am agreeing with you.

After listening to Donald Duck's performance? It's not going to move the needle in the direction you're hoping.

Power is paramount. Doesn’t really matter much how they get it.

+1 the old guard Rs saw an opportunity to grab power by riding on the coattails of the MAGA monster. They helped unleash the monster but lost control over it. And now the entire country is suffering for it.

+1. What was with the slurring? It was odd. Was Trump not wearing his dentures? Because that’s what it sounded like. My grandmother when she had her dentures out. Fine at home with the grandkids visiting. Very odd on a national podcast. Anyway, same old, same old + slurring== that was 4 minutes of my life (before I gave up) that I’ll never get back.

But aren't there pictures of Trump doing that interview in his standard boring uniform? It doesn't seem like he'd take his dentures out for that.

Was the video live-streamed? I’ve seen a picture from Mara Lago, but no video. And a picture could have been taken whenever. Probably before the interview though, because you know Trump demanded photo approval. Unless someone can show it was live-streamed, I’m going with fat Elvis speaking naked from his golden throne. Without his dentures.

Exactly. What I heard was so f-ing ridiculous that only 60+ year old boomers with 1/10th of their functioning brain cells remaining could be convinced to vote for Trump. Maybe the PP is one such indiviudal.
