Doesn’t the state superintendent have to fire Maryland superintendents though? |
No |
From state law; Before removing a county superintendent, the State Superintendent shall send him a copy of the charges against him and give him an opportunity within 10 days to request a hearing.
(3) If the county superintendent requests a hearing within the 10-day period: (i) The State Superintendent promptly shall hold a hearing, but a hearing may not be set within 10 days after the State Superintendent sends the county superintendent a notice of the hearing; and (ii) The county superintendent shall have an opportunity to be heard publicly before the State Superintendent in his own defense, in person or by counsel. I interpret this to mean that tomorrow we will learn that dr McKnight has requested a hearing. It won’t be over yet. |
As if you know. |
It’s happening! She is out tomorrow |
!!?? Details to spare??? |
Did she tell principals that today? Will she appeal? Sue? |
I heard this rumor late this afternoon at school. No idea if it’s accurate. |
This is helpful; thanks for posting. I think the only way it is over soon is if McKnight negotiates a severance and agrees to step down. |
Yas queen! |
Although I don't agree with much that has gone on, I don't wish any ill will toward her. This whole situation is sad on many complex levels. It feels like a horrible reality TV show but sadly it is real life. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Praying for us all! |
I don't wish any ill will on her either. But as someone whose kids are about to graduate, it'll be fun to watch MCPS's death spiral and progressive attempts to save it by implementing more insanity. |
Yeah, once she said she wasn’t gonna back down, they probably had all those closed sessions to figure out how to fire her. |
People are just guessing because there’s a board meeting today. |
Because other people's kids aren't our society's future? |
