Shoot. You found us out. We were all so mad at Pope that we decided to make new babies so we could reconvene this year and continue our complaining. Attention-seeking and blessed with remarkable fertility, we decided to get working on a new crop of baby Hawks. Anyone who dares be principal of Hardy in 2036 better watch out. |
None of the current students were alive when Pope was principal. But sure, these parents pushed him out. |
Lol. PP is just a reminder about how utterly entrenched and out of touch the DCPS/WTU old guard are. Unfortunately they are still some of the louder voices on social media. Still obsessed with Michelle Rhee, mad about Fenty’s takeover of DCPS, ranting about charters. Wake up y’all, it is 2023. |
I googled this dude because I wanted to assess what level of crazy PP is. He was principal almost 10 years ago. He had worked for DCPS for 35 years. The idea that he was "run out" is crazy talk. He was a of retirement age, fully vested and left. There were also a number of other seasoned principals who left during that period. The narrative then was that they were leaving because of DCPS policies. But go on with your bad self, PP. Live in the past and engage in revisionist history if it makes you feel better. |
Can't seem to keep the Wayne's happy either. |
Our oldest graduated from Hardy last year, and our youngest was scheduled to start 6th grade there this year.
We sold our house and moved to Arlington, instead where our kids are now having a much less chaotic school experience. Last hear, there were a lot of troubling signs that the school was in a downwards spiral, and I guess we made the right decision to move. But, it's a shame what's happened to the school. |
What middle school in Arlington provided better experience for your child? |
Williamsburg MS is going quite well for our younger son. Older kid enjoyed his first year at Yorktown HS. We have friends with a rising 8th grader at Dorothy Hamm, and it's been a positive experience for them, as well. |
His removal was announced right at the end of 2010. |
Dorothy Hamm was the MS I had picked out if we were going to do the Virginia schlepp. |
Both Hamm and Williamsburg feed into Yorktown, and are very well rated. The biggest difference between DCPS and APS is that pretty much every kid shows up to school more or less ready to learn. There's none of the chaos you see at a place like Hardy. And teachers don't need to spend half their time focusing on the disruptive kids in class. |
Smart move. Better college options too |
Yeah, we didn't see any viable options for our kids in DC, unless we were willing to shell out tens of thousands for public school. It's shame. Our kids both went to Key ES, and that was a positive experience. We wanted to give Hardy a try, and 6th grade for our oldest went well, but things fell apart during the pandemic, and never recovered. A lot of the kids seem to have gone feral. I wish the new principal, whoever he ends up being, the best of luck. |
Frustration about Johnson’s dismissal, and previous encounters with the group of parents, has compelled teachers to jump ship, the teacher told the Informer. As recently as last week, a well-regarded teacher left Hardy, which the teacher said has further weakened the sense of community at the school.
“It’s a sustained attack on teachers,” the Hardy instructor said. “Parents have collaborated with the community to get positions [cut out]. I’ve seen it about four or five times. Some teachers are scared or angry. It’s not all parents. It’s a group of extremely powerful parents who are bullies.” https://www.washingtoninformer.com/leadership-shakeup-at-hardy-ms-raises-questions-about-race-privilege/ When will the parents believe us? |
lol looks like the drunk teacher posting here landed an interview with The Informer. Where was The Informer when the principal of JOW was getting unfairly railroaded? Couldn’t make spurious claims of racism, so not a peep. |
