Does anyone know what the urgent call today is about? |
I hate to open this up to people who don’t know the situation/have a stake in hardy, buuuuttt it’s about elective choice. The proposed schedule for next year does not include any room for electives and despite the lsat successfully lobbying for funding for the number of teachers they were told were needed to return to the pre-pandemic schedules, we are now told that we are still two teachers short. |
It's because of what someone mowed into the lawn right before the big day. |
No, it is about the need to remove the principal due to, among other things:
1) Repeated mishandling (and hiding) of school safety incidents; 2) Abysmal test performance scores; 3) Gross budgeting and scheduling competence; 4) Documented dishonesty. |
Hardy has had a truly bad year. It can survive one bad year, but not two. My DC is already asking if he can please, please go somewhere else next year.
The principal blames all the problems on other people. He has no idea how to fix things. Instead, he just babbles eduspeak and complains about his workload. It's a tough situation. No one likes the idea of a principal getting re-assigned after one year, but it is what should happen here. The students are paying the price of the principal's vanity. |
A parent of a feeder fourth grader -- with no siblings at the school -- told me their daughter said she didn't want to attend Hardy because of all the fights she is hearing out. The administration not only does nothing about them, but they aren't even reporting them. |
Is there a way to keep incoming sixth grade parents involved with this? |
Holy Jesus. No more words than that. |
I’m bemused because I’ve been railing against the nonsense at the school since basically day 1 this year and I’ve been ignored and dismissed both in person and in posts here and all of sudden all the issues I’ve been concerned about all year are SO IMPORTANT that there is an emergency zoom for concerned parents with 5 minutes left in this lost, atrocious school year. Great. Too little too late ostriches. |
I also feel like this emergency meeting came out of nowhere. Would have been nice to be informed earlier. |
Emergency meetings do not have lead time - that is why they call it "emergency" |
So what was the conclusion? Will there be an organized action to try to remove the principal? |
What I meant is it seems things have been building up for a long time. Why not try to rally support from the community earlier? State the issues, get ideas from others on how to intervene, pressure the school for answers, etc, way before this. |
Who convened the emergency meeting? |
As a parent of a current 8th grader, I had no clue about what was shared prior to this meeting. Considering the seriousness of the issues that were mentioned tonight, the larger parent body should have been alerted WAY sooner. |
