| The POTUS doesn’t control the price of gas. The POTUS doesn’t control the price of gas. One time louder for the people in the back - the POTUS doesn’t control the price of gas. |
|
No, the POTUS tries to convince those in control of international petroleum prices to do what he would like. He can offer incentives, he can offer arguments, he can make promises for future aid, but ultimately, he is trying to persuade the powers that be to move in the direction he would like. If he is successful, he has affected the price of gas. If he is not successful, it doesn't mean he did nothing, but it means that he tried and failed to persuade the controlling powers, like OPEC, to move in the direction he asked. |
Hmm, Democrats were claiming just the opposite about three months ago: https://twitter.com/dccc/status/1466494036630544394?s=21 |
And here’s POTUS Biden taking credit for lower gas prices and claiming that he will work to lower prices further. |
You’re really desperate to play the gotcha whataboutism game when you pull DCCC posts from Twitter. Going to say it slowly for you …. The POTUS doesn’t control the price of gas. |
Just a simple question: Were you one of the TikTok influencers that the WH hosted to convince others that the rise in gas prices is not their fault? And so you know... his policies since the first day he took office have indeed contributed to the rise in gas prices. |

Um. I don’t think “taking a beating” means what you think it does. Commodities are the most elastic prices in the while market. They are extremely sensitive to the ups and downs of supply and demand. |
|
I find it ironic that between 2016 and 2020 there wasn't much elasticity in commodity prices.
