Anyone wohms done this with a happy result? We have a 3 and 5 year old but would really like another. I have frozen eggs from a decade ago so could probably get pregnant. |
We were thinking about it (I'm 45 now, so...) and my neighbors did it. Works for them. I kind of wish we had had the guts, but worried about money, space, energy... and got a dog instead ![]() |
Yes. You'll be in your 60's when it's leaving for college. Also, your retirement will be delayed considerably. |
Yes. |
I had my second at 42, I don’t regret anything. |
My SIL will have just turned 43 when her second child is born. First is 3.5. |
We are WOH family, and we had 3rd at 42.
It is crazy. Everything is a mess all the time, we are all exhausted, we worry we are shortchanging one of the 3 since we can't do man to man defense anymore. But we love it and the 3rd is a joy, and siblings love having another kid in the mix. No regrets, but that maybe because we're too tired to think that hard ![]() |
+1. This is what gets me. It all sounds fine and dandy now, but 18 years from now...not so much. |
Just FYI, I wouldn't assume those frozen eggs will get you a baby, especially if they weren't vitrified and/or you don't have a lot. I thawed out 22 frozen eggs (vitrified) from age 35 and ended up with two low quality embryos. Just something to think about. |
They were vitrified and I have 21. If it doesn't work then it sort of makes the decision for me? |
I won’t regret it now. You will later. |
go for it. plenty of people get pregnant naturally in their early 40s - you are not too old. I would not wait much longer though. |
Because of the age thing when they go to college? I just always hear that parents never regret having another... I worry that 5 years from now when it's too late I'll be kicking myself. This sucks. |
No way. I plan to be living the good life long before 60. |
I don't think late 50s/early 60s is too old to parent a child in college. |
