The current acting ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor is testifying in the impeachment inquiry today. It sounds like his testimony is as game-changing as we thought it would be.

Democratic Rep. Stephen Lynch said after leaving the SCIF that Bill Taylor’s testimony “is a sea change.”

“This testimony is a sea change. I think it could accelerate matters,” he said. “This will, I think, answer more questions than it raises. Let’s put it that way.”

New - Bill Taylor testified that he was told by Ambassador Gordon Sondland that security aid to Ukraine could have been held up in part because of a push for Ukraine to publicly announce an investigation that could help Trump politically, per sources in both parties.

Confirmed: Bill Taylor’s opening statement was 15 pages long and led many in the room listening to his testimony to sigh and gasp as he described efforts to tie an investigation of the 2016 election interference to a White House meeting and aid being released to Ukraine.

One lawmaker who sat in on the session said he found Bill Taylor’s testimony to be alarming: “All I have to say is that in my 10 short months in Congress—it’s not even noon, right—and this is my most disturbing day in Congress so far. Very troubling.”

Asked about Taylor’s comments, a source familiar with Sondland’s testimony said that Sondland cited, in addition to the investigations, that the aid may have been frozen because the Europeans weren’t giving Ukraine enough and corruption generally.

Actual dollars (or Euros) given by EU states to Ukraine undercuts part of the argument.

I don’t want to say I’d gotten numb to the Ukraine story, but used to it, maybe? What’s one more Donald Trump crime on top of the thousands of other ones, you know?
