had to call 911 3x in past week

Anonymous
I live in Capitol Hill and I've had to call 911 3 times in the past week -- twice just tonight! First time - open drug dealing at the library. Second time - passed out on the street. Third time -- walk past a man who OD'd, and I think he's dead.

This shit is depressing!

Send them to CCDC.

I wouldn't have called for the first one.

Sorry, I draw the line at open drug dealing in front of the freakin' library on a saturday afternoon. There are limits. They can make their drug corner somewhere other than where children hang out.

Maybe they were trading baseball cards.

I don’t think the library issue sounds like an emergency.

For the library, would have called the non-emergency line. It could turn into a good tip for police trying to bust dealers you never know. Honestly, drug abuse has skyrocketed in the past 10-15 years so it doesn't shock that you are seeing people OD'ing on the street. Other cities like Baltimore are being hit a lot worse.

DC's non-emregency line is also 911, isn't it?

Yes. PPs don’t know what they’re talking about.

yep, it's 911! if you call 311 to report an issue, they route you to 911.

I think we have identified why the 911 line is too busy to help with ACTUAL emergencies, people like this poster who think they are there to act as maid and chaperone to her life. With the exception of the last instance, all of these “emergencies” could have been ignored.

Not wanting a drug corner to be established across the street from a library is being a "maid and chaperone"? Ok.
