Kid in my child’s call wears pajamas to school everyday.

My child is in a preschool in the 3 year old class and one of the boys in his class wears striped pajama pants or a full set of pajamas to school EVERY SINGLE DAY. I don’t get it and it drives me crazy. Why would you not buy regular clothes ( not PJ’s) for your kid to wear to school?!

People will tell you to mind your own business, but kids at my DD’s school do this, too, and it drives me nuts for reasons I can’t articulate. Especially when they look slept-in.

Why do you care? Preschool kids are all about comfort, not fashion.

Interesting. I can think of several reasons.

Drives you crazy? Really?

You are going to have a difficult time navigating through life - I can tell.

Maybe you should move to a deserted island where you'll never run into other people.

mom of teens here, and I suspect it would be because by the time they got clothes on their kid, class would be over, and/or they and their kid would be so upset, it would be pointless in coming.

this could be for a few reasons, one of which has to do with a lack of cognitive flexibility (cognitively rigid) so the kid has a hard time with transitions. Another could be that they have a sensory issue with clothing--so many people do--but little kids have not yet learned how to overcome or ignore it.

The bigger issue is why this drives you crazy. Have you thought about that? This is only going to get harder as you child get older.

At that age my kids wore soft cotton items, like soft cotton pants or shorts and a soft tee or long sleeve tee depending on the weather. They weren’t pajamas and weren’t “slept in”, but were very pajama-like in terms of softness. I wanted them to be comfy all day and especially during nap. I never understood parents who put coarse-looking jeans or high boots or other constrictive clothes in kids.

Op, perhaps, you are annoyed because it is simply aesthetic, you like a more put together, effort made, fresh look, which can also be comfy?

Sounds like kids with parents who pick their battles wisely.

You only get a few short years in life to hang out in PJs all day.

It would annoy me too, unless they are babies. Just seems disorganized and unhygienic. Are the kids wearing underwear with their pjs.

This is 100% lazy parenting.

Honestly I prefer seeing 3-year-olds in comfy pyjamas vs skinny jeans or button pants.

Who cares

I agree. And think it's kind of cute.
