Ew, how horrible. Interacting socially with people who may not agree with politically?!?! We definitely want to stamp that out.

Did you listen to her monologue afterwards? You could probably learn something. She had a nice message and it was aimed directly at people like you.

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

Real open mind you’ve got there.

I don't see the issue. It wasn't a political debate. I actually have read that President Bush is extremely friendly and likeable. He's funny too.

Or perhaps, she’s a civilized human being capable of being friends with people she doesn’t always agree with. It used to be this was standard and even desirable behavior. I’m not really sure why that’s no longer the case.

After Trump, Bush's image has been redeemed. You're behind the times, OP.

+1. People are getting the vapors because a dog peed within 100 yards of them, because someone reached to get a straw, because someone didn't send a thank you note when they held a door for them, because someone in their county smoked a cigarette, because someone is wearing boots and a vest before winter, etc.

I’ve never heard of anyone not liking him as a person. See him and the Obamas every time they are seated at an event together.

OP and similar are just psychos.

There's life beyond partisan politics.

Yup.

OP, you fail this time.

I mean... he backed Kavanaugh, he started a war on a lie killing 100's of thousands, he opposed same sex marriage. He sucked as a president, he can't just wash all his sins away by painting.

So some people can take issue with it and some can think it is fine.

I don't care that she went to a football game with Bush and was nice. I don't see him eating at her house any time soon and visa versa. He didn't invite her, she didn't invite him.

I think people can still be pissed and you can think it's just grand.

What is the issue here? Waa she hanging out with Trump? Ivanka?

This isn't politics, people. It's values. It is not about R vs D anymore. The Republican party of today sold their soul. Bush is not that .

+1000

I loved Ellen's message. We don't have to agree with each other to be kind.

The issue is not that Bush is conservative or anti-gay. President Bush started a war that killed over 100,000 innocent people for no reason. You can’t come back from that. You can’t change your mind about that. He has never been held accountable.

Being a social pariah is the tiniest punishment possible and completely appropriate.
