Not true. Kids in both age groups had a positive test. Apparently a big issue (we are a different year at BSC) since there was also an appearance of trying to hide it which may impact kids in carpools. A not great situation. I dont know specifics of carpools etc.. but my general opinion is even outside at a practice I would not worry much. Carpools are a very different animal. There is little BSC or any other club can do to control parents and I am pretty happy with the way BSC has been handling COVID in general

The two positives are sisters. BSC was upfront. No idea whether the family was, either with club or their DDs carpool companions.

Player had positive case. Very unfortunate. My daughter attends the same school with the girl and she was sent home from school sick but practiced. I heard her Dad is a coach or something too. The parents did the wrong thing by allowing a sick child home from school to practice. Carpools, apparently sleepovers, etc. oh well. I’ll keep my younger daughters in Virginia and skip Bethesda. Hope they get well soon. I had two family members very sick

Leave it alone. Get back to soccer

Umm, this is soccer unfortunately; at least this year. It is a direct reflection of attitudes among members of this board that care only about their kid and nobody elses. I bet a quarter of the parents on this board would ignore exposure of their children to not have to miss practice out of a fear of losing a position or bench spot. I actually think these conversations are more relevant to picking a club than most anything else. Who will your kid come into contact with, who will you come into contact on the sidelines. What is it worth to play for a perceived better team. If you dont see that you are the problem

p.s. I will say the post above the one I quoted is disingenuous. You had me until you said I ll skip Bethesda to stay in VA. This happens EVERYWHERE. It is not a VA / MD or BSC McLean Loundon etc thing

That is true. My bad - I’m sure it’s here in Virginia and would not know. Covid has me crazy

No problem. Me to. This is a terrible year. Things looking better I hope..... I also hope your family members recover quickly. The sentiments that my club is better than yours because we dont have COVID drive me crazy. You dont appear to be doing that given your follow up post so I ll take to agreeing with your overarching point. Not only do we have to do the right thing. We have to trust our teammates parents to do the right thing and it is obvious many wont. It is not a club thing outside of when there are a larger percentage on a team that fail miserably. I think most clubs (as BSC did) would do the right thing. I guarantee those coaches have no desire to contract COVID. Parents are the problem hence many posting here.

How can parents not be held accountable to sending kids to practice sick?

I heard Bethesda 2006 may form two first division teams. Can that happen at one age group and nog other s?

I'm the most covid skeptical person there is. I think the world's reaction has been hysterical and damaging, and people are terrified for very little reason. I'm not bothered about getting it, nor do I care if my kids get it. I don't think anybody should wear a mask anywhere, nor try to force others to do so.

Even so, I would not send my child to practice if they were sick.

Says who?

PDA had two teams in ECNL 1 last year. I believe this year as well.

Both 2006 teams are strong.

FC Stars, Colorado, PDA and maybe a few others have two teams at every age group mostly because they were allowed to return to ECNL from DA with teams. Bethesda is not one of those teams.
