The Obama coalition doesn't exist anymore.

A third went over to the other side, a third only cares about skin color and a third was deported ... by Obama.

Ouch.

The 2020 electorate will crave stability and experience. We got the "change" candidate in 2016 and a solid 60% of American don't like him.

Establishment Dems have done so well for the country, why stop now? Suicide rates are at an all time high, mass shootings are an every week occurrence because society and mental health is in the tubes (guns were more readily available in the 60s, 70s and 80s so you can’t pin them on lax gun laws), people have to increasingly work two jobs just to survive, big tech is running amok and shaping society without any regulatory oversight and climate change catastrophes are right around the corner. Oh, and establishment politicians in both parties have so failed the country that people literally elected a pu$$y grabbing, ex-WWF heel and overall hack clown to run the country because a large percentage of the populace is so pissed off and despondent they just want to burn the whole system down.

But sure, let’s elect Joe Biden...the man this country needs for the pressing issues of the 21st Century. SMFH

True, Biden makes little sense but then who?

Bernie and then let's truly burn the whole system down?

Beto the Obama 2.0 to then take us to Trump 2.0?

Biden is a flawed character but IMO the best we have so far....assuming he runs.

good point on this. If you give Beto 4 years in the WH, make no mistake - tom cotton will get 8 years in it afterwards.

and unlike trump, he's a 'fully operational' death star.

That line made me laugh, especially the last part.

Eric Swalwell just threw his hat in the ring. Grew up in Iowa, represents California. Young, but I really like his willingness to take on Trump. Also like his position on guns. Personally, I prefer Buttigieg or Swalwell, with Harris or Klobucher as VP. Those tickets could win. I could, however, live with any Democratic candidate except Bernie.

Why no Joe Biden?

Actually, I’ve always liked Biden, and he would probably appeal to a segment of the voters that most other Democratic candidates won’t, but he’s already being savaged in the press and it will only get worse. Plus, Biden’s age is a factor, although he appears to be infinitely healthier than Trump in all respects. I don’t expect that Biden will be the nominee, but if he is I’m all in.

The Democrats desperately need new voters if they want to beat Trump. So why are they so dismissive of Bernie and co.? I’m guessing professional Democrats care about maintaining their gravy trains much more than they care about beating Trump.

Pretty much any dem candidate not named clinton will beat conman trump who is so unpopular that even after "self exoneration" from Russia mess his approval barely budged. The man hasn't had approval north of 45% even once. His approval has declined in every single state since 2017.

The Democrats have a decades-long habit of losing to worse and worse Republicans. I wouldn’t be quite so sure Trump will be easy for them to defeat.
