I think they screwed her. Her main project a super contentious issue that no one has been able to truly fix in decades as the border czar? I think she was set up for failure and that's extremely unfortunate given where we are right now.

she didn't go to the border ONCE!

Both things can be true. She was set up to fail and failed even worse than planned.

Looks like they did something right

The number of migrants unlawfully crossing the U.S. southern border has continued to drop markedly in July, nearing a threshold that would require officials to lift a partial ban on asylum claims enacted by President Biden, according to internal government data obtained by CBS News.

July is on track to see the fifth consecutive monthly drop in migrant apprehensions along the U.S.-Mexico border and the lowest level in illegal immigration there since the fall of 2020, during the Trump administration, the internal Department of Homeland Security figures show.

In early June, President Biden invoked a far-reaching presidential authority to suspend the entry of most migrants entering the U.S. illegally, effectively shutting off access to the American asylum system outside of official ports of entry.

Illegal border crossings — which were already falling before Mr. Biden's action — plunged further after the order took effect, reaching a three-year low in June.

What a joke. Improvements in July don’t make the illegal crossings for the last three years go away. Wake up!

Well, we had a law on the books but Trump said he didn't want the GOP to pass it so he can campaign. Sorry.

People also Love saying that young people hate Harris. Name a presidential candidate that young people overwhelmingly support that wouldn't immediately lose.

? Young people I know love Harris.

She's very unpopular with young people and progressives because of her prosecution record. I don't know a single person who thinks of Kamala other than "Copmala"

IDK. Just talked to my kids. One attending Oberlin (and voting in Ohio, BTW). And my more moderate kid at a VA State school. Both strongly favor Harris over Biden and think more of Gen Z turns out for her vs sitting at home. (Neither think There is a world in which Gen Z turns out for Trump. It’s turn out for Harris or stay home in their minds).

I’d talk to Gen Z before making sweeping assumptions.

You missed the mark, because I AM gen Z. Of course your kids think Harris is better than a man whose clearly soon to have dementia/parkinsons. Gen Z thinks anyone is better than an elderly dude whose memory slips him every 10 seconds. I think the social media influencer Quenlin Blackwell puts it best in a video she made where she basically condemned Kamala for being nothing more than a laughing clown, while the country implodes.

Quentin Blackwell, the professional clown?

How is it wrong? It is accurate.

Admitting he likely doesn’t have 4 more years in him does not mean he’s incapable now.

Anyone who has watched him in the past two months knows he is incapable. Come on.

You guys are so scared. Love to see it. The side by side of Trump and her will be enough. Just like the Nixon/JFK debate

I don't think anyone should be worried about debating Trump. He's still a bumbling fool and can't argue out of tin hat. He's entertaining at his rotating comedy routine, oh sorry, his rallies.

His comedy routine is as old and stale and demented as he is.

It's very sad. He used to be better at nicknames and all that. He's taken an obnoxious evangelical turn, and, if I wanted to watch something to cry from laughter at to demonstrate the end of this country, Joel Olsteen isn't my usual first pick.

Try harder.

Once again, you have to look at his presidency over all three years and how many people in total he has allowed in. Not just the last minute changes he made when he started campaigning.

He just released his formal statement about 15 minutes ago and he did not endorse anyone or even mention Kamala. Not sure if he’s trying to appear neutral or he really doesn’t think she’s the right choice.

Given she is VP, this is tantamount to an anti-endorsement:

"We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges."

That is not good.

Maybe. It’s also a recognition that Harris is not (yet) the official nominee of the party. While I’m sure he’s continuing to quietly influence the process, he might not want to publicly endorse Harris — lending her whatever power and credibility he has, only to be put in the position of having to publicly pivot to endorsing someone else. I kind of get that.

People who trust Obama might end up not voting at all if they perceive Obama’s endorsement as being either wishy washy or less than enthusiastic.

As well as he has been running. There was a big NATO conference just recently, did you miss it?

Incredibly, it did not involve Trump's friend Hannibal Lecter or electric sharks.

He is withholding his support to make sure whoever he endorses lets him control policy behind the scenes like Biden did.

I wonder if it's because he's broke. He certainly has a defeated look about him. You can tell when he has that grinch style smile, like he's drunk.

+2 Second to Biden, Harris is Trump’s dream candidate because she owns the border disaster. Funny you liberals can’t see that.

There is no border disaster outside of MAGA World who aren't voting for a Democrat anyway.

I mean, literally Biden gave a cogent press conference on all foreign policy issues. But PP forgets that conveniently.
