-1 It's pretty hard to believe that conservatives have much of a clue about what the media outside of right wing media reports on, given how many things they consistently get wrong, for example the astoundingly large percentage that believe Trump won the election and that it was stolen from him, the large percentage that underestimate wealth inequality, the fact that only 62% of Republicans even believe in climate change, with only 34% believing that human activity has anything to do with it. That ignores a ton of science. That list of baffling conservative beliefs goes on and on and on and on.
I mean, if they look at non-conservative media sources at all, they must be immediately making an irrational choice that "the left lies, therefore I will believe the opposite?"
PP here. I live in Georgia. The conservatives I know are college educated, not in denial about climate change, work hard, pay taxes, go to church/synagogue/mosque, and often are small business owners. They want tighter controls at our borders, a strong military, lowered inflation, better public education with a focus on academics and vocational training, and violent criminals and repeat criminals kept in prison (or hospitalized longterm for mental health issues).
They are in the minority where it comes to believing climate change. Do they believe that Trump won the election but it was stolen from him? What about all of the other lies that Trump has told and amplified over the years? Do they believe Democrats want "open borders" despite Dem support of the Bipartisan border bill that would have funded physical barriers at the border, more border patrol agents, more surveillance and technology for catching illegal border crossers, along with improving capacity to more quickly deport people who should be deported?
I think the problem is that even if Republicans "know what's on MSM" they have for the last 30+ years been systematically conditioned to believe that everything said by MSM is a lie. People like Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Mark Levin and others claimed that the MSM is lying about everything over and over and over on every show, and it's now culturally ingrained in many conservatives, even ones who never listened to folks like Rush Limbaugh hear it from fellow conservatives who did listen to them. Yes, the MSM does occasionally distort or get things wrong but overall they are far more likely to be telling the truth rather than telling a lie. But since conservatives don't like hearing politically inconvenient truths, they just dismiss them as lies, even though they have no evidence that it's a lie. Meanwhile, they put far more trust and belief in the conservative media outlets because they tell them what they want to hear, even though many conservative media outlets have an even worse track record with the truth than the MSM does.
I mean, after watch the MSM completely asleep at the switch with respect to Biden’s health, I’m beginning to see why they don’t trust the MSM at all. It’s appalling that only the right-wing media was covering what we all know now are serious issues with Biden.
Yet does conservative media cover any of Trump's serious mental health issues, the incoherent nonsensical rambling about sharks and batteries and windmill cancer and how you have to flush the toilet 10 or 15 times, how he slurs his speech, how he constantly fabricates wild stories "they came to me with tears in their eyes and said sir, we have never heard anything so brilliant" or how he's degenerated from being very articulate to now using a 5th grade vocabulary, how he often slurs his speech and can't get common words out - not to mention not questioning any other aspects of his health like when he got his health checkup from White House doctor Ronny Jackson which ludicrously said he was 200lbs when he's obese and clearly closer to 270 lbs, and all of the cardiac issues that come with that... How can you trust conservative media when they do even more lying and spinning and covering up than MSM does?

Trump already had 4 years to make America great but instead we had a bunch of disastrous policies, broken promises, hundreds of thousands of Americans dying because they thought a pandemic was a hoax, that vaccines and health measures were all an evil plot, and the economy crashed.
The world wasn’t on fire when Trump was president. It was under Biden that we had the humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan and the loss of lives he doesn’t even remember in a presidential debate, and conflicts from Gaza to Ukraine. It was Biden who swung open the border, to the point that he WSJ reports today that the government placed migrant children in unsafe homes with unvetted guardians (probably for work and sex trade) simply to avoid the bad optics of “caging” them like Obama did. Inflation has roared and the economy soured, and under Biden we have had more covid deaths even with the vaccine.
strange what you say about the economy, my 401k looks fantastic.
If you're rich, economy is great. If you're poor, inflation outstripping cost of living has made things difficult. That's the reality. Democrats are clearly not for poor people.
Much of middle class America is also struggling like never before. Democrats are a disaster.

Also, it's important to remember that there has long been a general anti-vaccine sentiment among progressives - not just Covid, but all of them. Especially in California. So for Kamala Harris it's very natural to express doubts about science and vaccines because that's the world she comes from. It's like Robert Kennedy Jr. Anti-vaccine sentiment and doubts about science and a belief in conspiracies is extremely common among progressives.
This is pure bunk.
It's not that she didn't trust the vaccine, it's that she didn't trust Trump to follow appropriate processes and procedures for testing the vaccine.
And your claim that progressives are anti-vax is also complete bunk. There was FAR more vaccine hesitancy among conservatives than among progressives, and none of us even remotely considers wackjob RFK Jr to be one of us.
Stop lying.
Her words are her words. Sorry you are uncomfortable with them now that you are considering making her your presidential candidate. She put politics above the good of the nation with her uneducated and unfounded doubts regarding the vaccine. It was inexcusable to do to the public and absolutely started the cascade of vaccine hesitancy. To deny that is to deny history - we all lived it.

Harris was asked in an Oct. 7, 2020, vice presidential debate if she would take a vaccine if the Trump administration approved one. Referring to the leading government epidemiologist Dr. Anthony Fauci, she said:
"If the public health professionals, if Dr. Fauci, if the doctors tell us that we should take it, I’ll be the first in line to take it. Absolutely. But if Donald Trump tells us that we should take it, I’m not taking it."
That is politicizing the vaccine. Funny how when republicans said they didn't trust Biden's word, they were conspiracy theorist (oh how the tables have turned), but when Harris said she doesn't trust Trump word on vaccines, it is perfectly acceptable.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are willfully obtuse, rather than actually stupid, because those diseases are coming from outside of the U.S. and are being imported by travelers (including those here illegally). Right wing media has nothing to do with that. The problem then is that many of the illegal aliens who are pouring across the border willy-nilly are unvaccinated, so they're susceptible to disease and then it spreads. But that's the fault of RWNJs too, right??
DP.... travelers have ALWAYS come into the country, some of which carried measles and chicken pox. But previously it was not an issue because Americans weren't indoctrinated in bullshit making them irrationally fearful of vaccines and we had sufficient rates of vaccinations to achieve herd immunity. But with all of the MAGA anti-vax conspiracy theories and hysteria, vaccination rates have dropped in many parts of the country and the herd immunity is lost in those communities, causing outbreaks.
You're the one being willfully obtuse here.
MRNA is a new technology and many didn't want that. Previously, it wasn't an issue bacause people couldn't hop a plane and spread it quickly. This popped up out of nowhere. This was killing people quickly in mass quantity. AIDS/GRID was not a pandemic, so don't even start with that.
Biden didn't do well either. They didn't have testing kits ready to go quickly and whined when a new variant Omicron came out saying no one could have seen another mutation coming.
Let's get real. Winning elections isn't everything. You also have to govern after you win. Biden has been atrocious in that. Not just covid, but loss of confidence in the U.S., foreign policy, an open border, crime everywhere, ridiculous and comical staff picks and on and on. This is not a serious administration. It's on fire now, and not in a good way.

No, the right-wing media does not cover Trump’s dementia and lies. But you don’t get it: I do not trust the right-wing media. They lie like Trump lies. But what has shifted, what has profoundly shifted, is my trust in the MSM.
The issue isn’t that I’ve started to trust Fox, Daily Wire, etc. The issue is that I no longer trust the MSM. I guess inasmuch as the right-wing media lies like Trump lies, the MSM lies like we now know Biden and the DNC lie.
the right wing media told the truth about:
-Biden’s decline
-Hunter’s laptop
-that “russian collusion” w/Trump did not happen
-inflation
-coronavirus origins, vaccine dangers
left wing media lied about the above.
democrats lied about the above and still are.
Right wing media/right wing politicians also demonized vaccines in general to the point there are measles and chickenpox outbreaks. It is just bonkers and so incredibly irresponsible.
It was Kamala who said she didn’t trust the vaccine and we all remember that.
hmm, k. Clearly not a serious response because you know the right wing media/politicians are responsible.
Actually, Kamala Harris did say she wouldn't take a vaccine if that's what Trump recommended. She made it very clear in her debate with Pence that she felt that the rollout of vaccines was politicized and she had no faith in the good intentions of the Trump government. She, more than anyone, is what made vaccines a stupid political issue from the very beginning.
Harris sounds like she has oppositional defiance disorder. Or at least that's what I hear when I won't do what the government tells me to do.

+1 Yes, I agree it's an interesting viewpoint. Probably considerable truth there.
Can you read your own post? She said she wouldn’t take the vaccine. Pretending people are lying when we simply are capable of reading - and more importantly, remembering - is a sign of political desperation.

You are going to blame many people not taking MANY vaccines on VP harris? Her comment was taken out of context.
It is because the right started to vilify vaccines in general, science, doctors. It became politicized, when it never should have been. People have been getting vaccinations for decades, what was the issue all of a sudden? There was a measles outbreak in Florida. Dangerous and totally unnecessary.
