Why? It's their story as much as his.

No one would care about them without Michael Oher. That’s the big difference. He’s the Beyoncé of the group.

What's unique about his story other than them?

If Oher is nothing special, then why can't Leigh Ann stop using his name when promoting herself? If she's so accomplished, why does she need to keep referring to herself as Oher's "mom"? The reality is that no one would give any damn about the Tuohy's without Oher.

Rags to riches tales are a dime a dozen in the NFL. The Tuohys were already rich when they met him. He needed them more than they needed him.

I don’t understand your response. Why can’t the Tuohys live without referencing Oher constantly?

The fact that the tuohys already had money means nothing. They still profited off of Oher and won’t stop.

Oher would have gotten the nfl without them.

Disagree. Need a stable home & an incredible amount of tutoring for NCAA standards.

I thought the NCAA standard for scholarships was 2.0? You should likely re-xamine your definition of stable. These suburban 'families' are some scary places to visit.

Oh really? Sure about that?

Yes. He was already a top recruit before he lived with them.

If he was too dumb to write his own book, read it, and understand what conservatorship meant why are supposed to believe this foster care kid who barely went to school was suddenly going to be smart enough to improve his grades, satisfy the NCAA, and navigate the recruiting process all on his own with no outside support and investment?

Most adults had no clue what a conservatorship was prior to Britney Spears and this was prior to that whole situation. He also just turned 18. A lot of 18 years old sign things without fully understanding them. He also signed it under the advise of his “family.” They even encouraged his bio mother that this was the best for him when it wasn’t necessary. They could have done a legal adoption.

You must be very young and naive then. Speak for yourself.

It’s reality. Most adults outside of legal circles were not familiar with that term especially at 18. You’re trying to call him dumb for signing something his fake family told him to sign. He thought they cared about him.

In what way did they not care about him? They welcomed him into their home. Fed him, got him on the right track, made him NCAA eligible, bought him a truck, set him up with health insurance, cleared the path so he could make the most of his gifts. What monsters.

THEY ARE OLE MISS BOOSTERS!! They did all of that so they could get him to go to that school and the Briarcrest football coach also got hired by Ole Miss. He was also investigated for other NCAA recruiting violations. They are all self serving frauds. None of what they did was for Michael. It was for themselves.

Michael comes out of his $35M richer. Did he get nothing out of this? Are you unfamiliar with how the world works?

I’d love to know if the Tuohy’s fraudulently claimed adoption related tax credits in 2004

I haven't seen one post about what MO has said in the past weeks. It's been the Saviors and thier PR/lawyer filling all the space and news cycles. Why do you think that is? That are they fighting so hard to preserve? Why is no one asking that?
If this is 'family' and he's so upset - what does a full on press assault do for your son? Riiiiight....

Nah. The Tuohys who never filed the expected paperwork regarding the conservatorship better come up with some answers.

Did you read the conservatorship papers? It spelled out that he had no mental or physical defects or disabilities yet they allowed the false narrative that he is intellectually disabled. It also allowed them access to all his medical information all this time. Creepy.

Let’s talk about why they never ended the conservatorship. It gave them control over every facet of his life. They have access to all his medical info. The amount of control they gave themselves was unnecessary even then when Michael was 18. This speaks volumes about them.

You have to go to court to end a conservatorship. Michael has to go to court to end it. Saying it again for the people in the back - Michael has to go to court to terminate this conservatorship. The Tuohys could have ended it at any time yet they didn’t.

What would happen if the Tuohys went to court to end it like normal people would have done? It would have gotten press and they would be exposed as the lying liars they are just as is happening now. I doubt they would ever petition the court to end it unless forced.

You can try and smear Oher all you want but the fact remains that Oher had to file to end this conservatorship and the Tuohys were never going to.

They can’t. This has been explained before. Him filing is exactly how it works.

Then I guess he could have turned them down since he had so many other offers. He was just about to get it all together, any minute now, but then the Tuohys came along, right? He could have just said no and laughed in their faces since it's all so easy to manage alone.

and if they did do that, they made him pay 10x for every bit of it. It wasn’t from the kindness in their hearts.

Go read about the families interactions with their community.

PP is on Planet White Savior. They won’t accept that the Tuohys had ulterior motives and never cared about a homeless Black teenager.

It was a mutually beneficial arrangement. Everyone knows that. But they didn't get rich off him, they were already wealthy. They didn't have to do any of this, they could have done nothing like the vast majority of people.

Yeah, but if they did nothing, Ol Miss wouldn't have gotten a 5 star left tackle, so...

Yes. He would have selected a much better school.

That 35 mill was his salary for his hard work and he didn’t need the Tuohys to get that.

You’re so jealous and hate Oher so much that you keep implying he shouldn’t complain because he was paid for playing in the nfl.

That has nothing to do with the Tuohys lying and taking advantage of him.

Yes, where does someone with a GPA of around 2.6 find themselves? What better schools should he have looked at and how would making a different choice altered his trajectory?
