So we will be saddled with COVID-19 mandates for the rest of our lives? |
It isn't quick or easy in the teaching and nursing professions either . . . lots more training and education needed there . . . but it is the solution that is being implemented. So why not in trucking? |
There are other solutions coming to the trucking issue. Self driving in specific lanes possibly is one solution. Necessity is the mother of invention. |
The population will cry “uncle” very quickly if insufficient quantities of cargo are transported by truck. That will happen a lot faster than getting a bunch of foreigners to go to Canada and get properly trained and licensed to drive a tractor trailer |
It doesn't matter, this wasn't all, or even most, of the truckers in Canada. The truckers unions did not approve of this "protest". |
We are years away from that happening. Interesting that few here wish for their government to engage constructively with these protesters. And ironic that working class hero “Joe from Scranton” is the one who is encouraging Trudeau to crack the whip with predominantly blue collar protesters. |
We had some posters in this very thread bragging about their donations. |
Oh, please ![]() |
You don’t have a right to someone else’s labor by force. |
We can just use the military to take their place. Nobody complains aboit the military being forced to labor. |
Yep. The National Guard is already being used to drive school buses and substitute teach. |
Do you think truck driving is rocket science? It takes 6 weeks to train a driver. The US military used to train truck drivers as a MOS a generation ago before they started outsourcing ordinary tasks to Halliburton contractors. Canada can train volunteers or members of the military. Trudeau should cancel commercial licenses of protestors and give free training. |
Yes, they are no doubt setting up truck driving training schools in Mexico right now. Plenty of labor. It's not that hard. |
A trucker is much easier to replace than a nurse or teacher.
This is about men who don’t want to protect “feminized” labor. I think it’s more than they just can’t be bothered to do what’s right. They don’t what some “b*+ch” telling them what to do. This protest is deeply rooted in misogyny. |
I hope so. I'd love to see these spoiled brat truckers switch roles with impoverished Mexicans whose only career choice is to be a drug mule under threat of torture and death. |
