Your statement doesn't make sense.

SY teams would be 6 months older than BY.

What I think you were trying to say is not very good SY players shouldn't expect to become superstars just by switching to BY. Assuming they can play "down" in BY depending on what month they were born.

Overall it would be nice to have different options so parents can't claim RAE as the booyman holding their kid back or giving them an advantage.

Because the whole debate for ECNL isnt really about “playing with friends” or random rec league participation rates, it is 100% about trying to gaining a RAE advantage.

The problem these dopes have is they think a group phenomenon is an individual benefit. They’re all idiots.
Considering a group is an aggregation of individuals and groups pre and post change comprise different individuals, how does the change from SY to BY not encompass individuals with a benefit and individuals with a loss?

Also the leagues are calling the shots and they wouldn't have an RAE change, so how do explain many leagues supporting the change? Finally note that the "vote" leaned towards SY but a minority, around 40 percent of kids get an RAE advantage moving from BY to SY.

Hopefully having SY and BY leagues will begin to reduce RAE.

Strongest players on the most competitive teams will only be interested in BY teams and clubs as these are aligned with the highest level national and international competition. These players are already capable of playing up and training against older competition successfully. Playing with friends at grade level (SY) is never a consideration or goal; maybe this is more a consideration for U-littles and rec-level players.

No, I would expect the strongest Q1 players (i.e., Jan - March) will want to play SY during league play so they get to play against tougher competition in league play (i.e. Q3 and Q4 players that are older than them). It will better prepare them for national and international competition.

Nope - competitive ECNL teams and players already play up and train with players a year or 2 older than them. Going to SY to play with or against players only a few months older does nothing. What month you are born in is irrelevant unless you’re a U-little or rec player looking for easier competition.

This makes zero sense. National and international competition is BY, not SY.

Fear from a parent with a kid about to be replaced, maybe?

I agree with you completely. This has also been my position also... switching to SY is less impactful the older a player becomes.

Your statement doesn't make sense.

SY teams would be 6 months older than BY.

What I think you were trying to say is not very good SY players shouldn't expect to become superstars just by switching to BY. Assuming they can play "down" in BY depending on what month they were born.

How does SY or BY today/tomorrow change who you were/are/will be as a player, especially if you're mediocre or lesser?

What's your disagreement with their statement?
A switch to SY will make average player better? Give super skills?

It doesn't at the highest levels.

I was just playing along with the RAE/DEI im a victim disciple.

It would nice if you were correct but older players in an age group constantly being labeled better is the self fulfilling prophecy and inconvenient truth you haven't been able to explain away. If people didn't use the words RAE, the phenomena would still exist.

Didn't know they were being labeled better.

Thought they were being labeled bigger, faster, stronger

Please explain how teams at the highest levels often roster multiple players 1-2 years younger than the rest of the team.

It's hard to reason with rec parents that know everything.
