any suggestions for condos/co-ops in walt whitman?
i would think that many have HOA's that are 1000 or whereabouts. do many middle class end up renting bc it's so expensive ? |
| This seems like more of a real estate forum question than an MD public schools forum question. |
|
Are there even any apartments zoned for Whitman?

OP, you might have to try renting in that cluster before being able to purchase.

| Kenwood Place condos might be a good place to look - there are a bunch of WoodAcres/Pyle/Whitman kids and well within your budget. Downside is the temporary hassle of the Westbard construction - but long term, that's probably value added. |
| There are very few non-SFHs in the Whitman district. Look in the Cabin John area -- there are some apartment buildings tucked in there, and a few townhouses too. |
|
OP there are not few rentals in the Whitman district - there are more than there have been in the past 10 years. Some sit empty for 12+ months.
Check out Zillow first and then contact a realtor who can show you the latest. |
| What’s your monthly rental budget? |
| You can find 550k for BCC |
You can find 2-bedroom units under $500K in Sumner Village. For example: https://www.redfin.com/MD/Bethesda/4974-Sentinel-Dr-20816/unit-405/home/143215289 |
| 550k is not middle class. |
that's true in general. but isnt MC relative? |
this has 1000$ in HOA fees. what a waste. |
| There are townhouses that go for sale in Inverness ridge off seven locks and bells mill in your range. I think they’re zoned for Churchill though. |
No, there are clear guidelines. |
