This seems like more of a real estate forum question than an MD public schools forum question.

Are there even any apartments zoned for Whitman?

(Until the building at Westbard starts, that is.)

OP, you might have to try renting in that cluster before being able to purchase.

Kenwood Place condos might be a good place to look - there are a bunch of WoodAcres/Pyle/Whitman kids and well within your budget. Downside is the temporary hassle of the Westbard construction - but long term, that's probably value added.

There are very few non-SFHs in the Whitman district. Look in the Cabin John area -- there are some apartment buildings tucked in there, and a few townhouses too.

OP there are not few rentals in the Whitman district - there are more than there have been in the past 10 years. Some sit empty for 12+ months.

Check out Zillow first and then contact a realtor who can show you the latest.

You can find 2-bedroom units under $500K in Sumner Village. For example: https://www.redfin.com/MD/Bethesda/4974-Sentinel-Dr-20816/unit-405/home/143215289

There are townhouses that go for sale in Inverness ridge off seven locks and bells mill in your range. I think they’re zoned for Churchill though.

No, there are clear guidelines.
