| My husband wanted to buy it over the winter and I agreed, but we both laughed that it would probably end up collecting dust. Well, I'm happy to say it hasn't. I love it. I have a bad knee (I'm only 38, but there you go), and it's the only exercise I have done lately that doesn't exacerbate my knee problems. I've tried HIIT, running, etc. I also love the music and the instructors - they are so motivating and encouraging. Just a little shout out for Peloton. |
Exactly the same. Husband wanted to buy it, I didnt...and I now use it way more than him. |
| My friends all rave about theirs. My place is too small for one. |
Are you sure? It has a really small footprint. We have ours in a nook in our office. In our previous place it was in our bedroom and didn't make the room feel crowded. |
|
Were you into biking or spinning before?
It’s like a cult I would like to join but it’s a lot of money... |
| do the bikes ever go on sale? |
| I have friends who love it, but I find something really depressing about it. We're all descending into The Matrix. |
OP here. No, I never was into cycling. I hated doing the bikes at the gym. I had never even been to a Soul Cycle or similar class. It is a lot of money, I agree. For us, we could afford it and if it got my husband motivated to work out, then I was all for it. |
I disagree. It's just like doing any other workout at home which people have been doing since television. |
| Obsessed. DENIS FTW |
I do like Denis too. Robin is also one of my favorites. I love the pep talks they intersperse throughout the workout. They make you feel good for just showing up. And the reminders to breathe (in the workout and in life). It's just so positive. I love it. |
Did you see Robin posted on IG that she's taking time off to freeze her eggs? Pretty bold to share that with the world but I guess that's what Peloton is about. |
| I loooove mine. The best. |
|
I love mine too. I am a full time working mom with a demanding job and a long commute. I really struggled to exercise regularly after having my kids and wasn’t able to establish a regular workout routine until I started riding with Peloton two years ago. I credit Peloton with helping me lose all the baby weight, get my pre-baby body back, and wean off the Zoloft I was prescribed for post-partem depression.
I also do a lot of workouts through the app and they are amazing. I have an old treadmill that I use to do the boot camps, and I do a lot of the 20 or 30 minute strength workouts. I stream the app to an old HDTV that I have set up in my basement. I highly recommend you try out the boot camps and the strength workouts if you haven’t tried them already, they are a great compliment to the bike. |
| Did you all like biking before you got one? Is there a place to try it out? I love eliptical machines, but haven't ever been a fan of biking (not a strong bike rider and am scared to be on the road versus sidewalks). |
