| I know this sounds silly but is this standard to ask these days? This lady will be in my home twice a week while I am home with my daughter. I do not live in the DC area. I live in a state that's known to have lots of weirdos with guns. |
| If you live in a state where concealed carry is legal and a lot of people carry a gun, yes, I would ask. You are permitted to say no guns in your house. |
If you have reason to think there's a better than 1% chance that your housekeeper is concealed carrying at work, I'd just say "incidentally, this house is a Gun Free Zone" when you settle on a price. To answer the bolded question: absolutely it's not standard. Maybe if my cleaner showed up in a truck covered in Punisher decals and had a Molon Labe tattoo, but this has honestly never occurred to me. |

Troll alert. That's why we aren't saying which crazy state she lives in. |
| I would not ask. I have a cleaner and havent asked ours. We also own a gun that is kept locked in a safe and she has never asked us. |
I Iive in Florida. |
That's your problem. Not the gun. |
OP here. I don't know. They kinda of go together. |
| I would simply inform her that you don't allow guns in your home. |

ignorant dumb-ass troll |
OP here. Are you from Florida? Just because you're clearly offended doesn't make me a troll. Florida does have a bad reputation for having lots of weirdos. |
Why are you hiring a weirdo to clean your house? |
OP here. I didn't say she's a weirdo but it's not always obvious. I haven't spent lots of time with this person. |
