Full or half eternity band

Anonymous
Which do you have or would you choose?

I'm upgrading my wedding band for our anniversary.

It is going to be 3 sided pave diamonds but I have to decide between half or full diamonds

And also if it will be same width all the way around or graduated. My engagement ring band is 3 sided graduated pave stones

You really like diamonds. Go full.

What's the price difference. My wedding band is half and I love it, but price was the deciding factor, and I would have liked to be able to get the full.

I have a full eternity band and the big downside is that it can not be resized.

I got a half because I genuinely don't understand the point of paying extra to have the secret knowledge that there are more diamonds against your palm that no one can see. Also when I'm in a place where I don't want to draw attention I can twist my ring around and presto chango it's a plain band not worth mugging someone over!

If the diamonds are bigger, is it annoying to have on the inside of your hand?

I like being able to spin the band too- too look more modest - but it is annoying if the band is too big that it will spin around and I feel like I have to adjust it to "show" the pretty part and that feels fussy.

I have a full one because I didn't want to have to adjust it when it spun around. I kind of feel like your hand also isn't always palm but, so I like the look of the diamonds going all the way around.

OP here. My rationale would be the annoyance of it twisting and looking misaligned. My engagement ring is half, but because of the center stone it can't twist all the way around like a band would.

I chose half because I found the full uncomfortable on my palm but my diamonds are quite large on the half, made from DH nana's heirloom ring. I don't know if I had smaller/channel set if it would make a difference.

My ring is slightly loose but this still isn't an issue - it rarely gets off track and if it does I can flick it with my thumb or even just wiggle my ring and middle finger to move it back. I only wear this band though, so if you're wearing multiple rings next to each other it might be more of a bother to see them misaligned and/or fix one without moving the others.

A jeweler advised me that half is better because you're too likely to break or scratch the stones with a full band. Every time you pull a door open for example you're smashing your ring against a metal handle.

Full is uncomfortable.

Definitely half. Full is hard if you are active. Constantly banging on stuff is tough on the ring.

+1 Same here. You can do a lot of damage to the stones with constant friction and scratching so they're more likely to break, scratch or fall out of the band. I have two half pave eternity bands.
