Just curious-What are your thoughts on male babysitters? Would this be an option for your family? |
I'm a man, would never allow it. |
Our nanny is male. We poured through resumes, did screening calls, and then interviewed a few. He was the best fit. Several years in, we're still happy with our choice. |
No. Sad, but true. |
I’ve never been comfortable with the idea. |
Nope. |
My DD is 7. She can shower herself and use the bathroom herself. She knows the rules as far as privacy when changing etc.
Yes, I would hire a male sitter if I knew him, like knew the family or knew from from the neighborhood /recommended by somone/ knew from Church. I would prob not hire a stranger whether male or female. |
on a rare occasion
yes for mother's helpers |
Only if he were ugly. Can't have DW looking at another man.

I’m extremely selective about babysitters, and would screen a male the same I would a female. tbh I probably wouldn’t consistently use a male babysitter, but if it were a neighborhood kid or someone well-known I would use him in a pinch. |
Trust, your male nanny wants your child, not your wife |
We’ve done it and would again, but I have to admit the girls have been more reliable and responsive, not sure if that’s coincidence. |
I wanted a manny—I wanted someone who would be strong enough to also walk our large, energetic dog with baby in carrier. ![]() |
I was a male babysitter and everything worked out fine
Sadly no wives seduced me either |
My son did some babysitting when he was 16-17 years old. It never occurred to me that people wouldn’t be comfortable with that. How odd. |
