The stereotype that Male babysitters must be homosexual pedophiles sadly still exists.
Back to the fifties?? |
I'd probably let one or two of the aides at my kids' school babysit. They're great and I've always gotten good vibes from them. A couple of the male teachers, however, I get a slightly weird feeling about, so no. No strangers. Only one or two of their cousins. I mean, I pick female babysitters this way too, but yes I agree that it's a much riskier business to have men watch your kids. |
I trust homosexual men way more than straight men. It's the straight men who most commonly abuse kids (boys and girls). All in all, y'all are violent. |
BTW, statistics back this up. |
NOPE |
I would not actively one out, just because we live in an area with a big population, I can find a female sitter. But if it were my close friend's kid or someone super caring and nurturing who had my husband's personality for example, yes. But guys like my husband (just born with that temperament) are few.
There are some, though. My child's daycare has a male teacher in his mid 20s. He's getting an associate degree in childcare while working PT at the daycare. We've known him 3 years and would trust him. |
No. Never. No exceptions. And I side-eye the few
parents who will hire teenage boys as sitters. I figure they are permissive and or naive. I have a DS16, too. Also put myself through college babysitting and now work in the school system. I find it weird that my two teen nephews, ages 17 and 14 babysit; and no, I wouldn’t wouldn’t hire or recommend my my nephews, either. |
Single Mom of two boys - I am looking for one right now. |
No, back to reality. Pull your head out of your a$$ and read the news. |
