If the inner cities are so bad, why do residential properties go for 7 and 8 figures? |
I was being sarcastic. Job pay & benefits up. But I do think it makes it harder for small businesses but that’s because of our healthcare system. And THAT is on GOP and Lieberman. |
It’s the old saying, it’s so expensive and crowded nobody wants to live there…lol |
Bloomberg headline today - "Global Rout Spreads to US Stocks on Covid-19 Variant Concerns".. Meanwhile 46 is vacationing at a billionaires Nantucket Compound. |
So he can stop the news of the variant and stop the global rout if he's in the WH instead of at a compound somewhere? Does he not have a phone or internet service? What is he supposed to do? Just wondering . . . |
As far as I am concerned, as long as he isn't bilking the US taxpayers out of $149M from Secret Service rent and hotel bills for personal gain, we are net ahead. Yet, GOP didn't care about that, or Trump's hundreds and hundreds of vacation days and rounds of golf. |
+1 So now the GOP is back to pretending to care about stocks? |
Every major city has pockets of rich enclaves. Compared to the overall city, though, these are a small portion of the housing stock; hence, there are properties that go for 7 and 8 figures - supply and demand. The rest of the inner city, the VAST majority of the housing stock, do not go for 7 or 8 figures, and I doubt I would see you living there. These cities are Dem run and the epitome of the haves and the have nots, just as California in general is becoming. With all the talk of equity and income inequality, they just do not see how their policies create much of the issue. |
And the GOP doesn’t like The Carlyle Group anymore? So hard to keep track. |
What policies should they change, and how are you helping? |
I can almost guarantee that institutional racism is at play in the haves and have nots situation in the cities mentioned above |
it is generally racist zoning policies that restrict housing stock. The Biden Administration is seeking to make changes to that, but the GOP are opposed. So what is the GOP solution to a lack of affordable housing? Hint, they don't have one, they just like to complain about whatever the Dems propose. Remember when Trump was saying the Dems are going to "ruin" the suburbs? What is the GOP solution? |
DJIA drops over 900 points on Black.... err Red Friday. All is well... child tax credit will save everyone! |
Racist zoning policies? Who has been in charge in these cities? Dems have been in control of cities like Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Chicago and many other cities for DECADES . Now all of a sudden Biden cares and the GOB are opposed. HA! No, Dems have almost 100 years of exclusive reign in many of these cities with all this racist zoning. WTF have they done about these racist policies? NOTHING! That is what. They pay lip service to the issues to get elected and do absolutely nothing. There is no GOP to oppose whatever they want to enact, but they continue with their rhetoric and, according to you and above PP, systemic racism and racist zoning policies, and in the end, they get nothing meaningful accomplished. One thing most economists agree on is that rent control is disastrous in the long run to create affordable housing, so that is one I've heard some GOP propose getting rid of and one thing I am sure Dems would be opposed to. Also, no one wants to seem to address the issue of how the schools in these areas are completely failing these kids, again, another institution run exclusively by Dems for decades. Crime, homelessness, sanctuary city status, and lack of ways to deal with any of it are all issues that have gotten worse under Dem leadership in these cities and are causing middle class to move away, leaving the haves who can move into gated communities and the have nots, facing increasing blight and crime. Not a pretty picture, but oh yeah, the GOP, who have no say in these cities or government right now are the problem. |
If you don't understand who implemented the zoning from the 1920's then please don't comment.
it starts with Euclid, google it. |
