COVID is more contagious than the flu. |
I am a part of the open slowly crowd and I actually do change my voluntary recreational activities during flu season. |

I think the country can reopen very, very slowly, as long as social distancing and mask wearing and sanitizing and more and more testing are in place. There are very low risk areas, very low risk sports (tennis), very low risk jobs that can be done safely in certain areas where the virus is not exploding (like NYC). Rural areas can open up first. Testing will find cases, they can be isolated, and contacts traced. That should be possible.
But those of us in urban areas have to be more cautious. I'm not going anywhere even if my entire state opens up. I'm wearing a mask until a vaccine is discovered, even if that takes 10 years. I'm wearing a mask to work, even if I get fired from my job. I don't care. I'll find another job, but I won't find another life. Nothing has changed since the pandemic started, except a lot more people are dead in the past three months. Many more will die because so few Americans have been exposed to the virus. I don't want to be one of them. |
Why can’t we change how it’s set up when there are millions of people wandering about without symptoms spreading the virus? |
thanks for being reasonable but the mortality rate is much less than 2% where to start many more cases than actually being identified almost half the deaths are nursing home related and the rest are almost all people with multiple health conditions bottom line for healthy folks hospitalization and death rates are almost exactly like the flu |
Except that there is a very big difference between the flu and covid 19. |
And the many more millions who are now unemployed as a result of this lockdown are wondering the same thing about you. |
|
The only time there's no risk of dying is after death.
|
Wow, dude, that’s so, like, profound, man... like it really blows my mind! |
The polls don't show that. They show the overwhelming majority of people are in favor of the lockdowns and worry about openning too early. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/policy/healthcare/495382-majority-of-americans-support-another-two-weeks-of-lockdown-poll%3famp . |
| Gov. Pritzker of Illinois has announced a very cautious, five-phase reopening plan. Every state should follow it. |

This things attacks lard asses. Sorry if you're offended. That's a fact. That's how you die (other than being in advanced age).
You want to live? Lose the weight. Especially if your BMI is 35 or higher. If you can't walk a mile or two without collapsing, you're in trouble. Spend a little less time ruminating on the internet, put the soda and chips down and start getting fit. This thing will probably come around next fall for round two. All the whining about Trump won't save you. |
The White House/CDC guidelines for reopening are good. Every state should follow them. Except for those who've jumped the gun. |
Are there a lot of lard asses in China and Europe? |
Once again we have people who used to claim that all lives matter. Except now it's "All lives matter Except Except for old people People with pre-existing conditions Fat People?" |
