Except the DACA kids did not break the law. Their parents did.

And that means they get benefits American citizens don't get, because?

Which benefits are those?

In state tuition in Massachusetts.

American citizens don't get in state tuition in MA? Like no American citizen gets it?

Most of them don't. Only the ones who are MA residents do. That's a very small number, and it does not include PP. Or my kids, either.

Your and PP's kids still won't get in state tuition in MA if DACA kids get deported.

Better chance.

Unless you are another educated elite that thinks money grows On trees

If your kids aren't MA residents, then no, no chance they'll get in state tuition in MA. Sorry.

No kidding. Stupidest argument ever.

Who put off funding CHIP for 4 months? Republicans.

Who rejected a deal to restore DACA? Republicans.

Who put CHIP in the CR to try to force it to pass without DACA? Republicans?

Who caused the shutdown? Republicans

It’s that simple.

Why on earth should DACA pass in a CR? It's a huge, consequential piece of legislation that needs to be carefully considered. A rushed DACA "fix" is a guarantee that hundreds of thousands of mostly adults brought here as children will need to be amnestied again in 15-20 years.

They've been working on it. It's not "rushed".

The reason it's in. car is because Congress has broken several promises to vote on it. This is the only leverage there is, of Congress breaks promises.

Let me blow your mind: DACA students who live in MA are MA residents! Your children are not MA residents.

wow, innovative.

DACA students are illegal aliens.

Reagan already did an amnesty, should we do amnesty every 30 years?

Senators Grassley, Cotton, and Perdue penned an oped for The Hill earlier this week, highlighting the negative impacts of mass immigration driven by extended-family Chain Migration.

[Chain Migration] has spurred a wave of mostly unskilled immigration into our country...

This policy puts downward pressure on the wages of people who toil with their hands, who work on their feet. Americans with high school-level educations have seen their wages fall by 2 percent since the 1970s, while inflation has made the cost of living even higher. For Americans who haven't finished high school, it's even worse. Their wages have fallen by nearly 20 percent.

Why is supply and demand ignored when you are low skilled workers????

Educated elites say f’ck you

Explains how Melania and her parents got in.

And this is worth shutting down the government?

DACA alone? No. Four CRs and absolute dysfunction? Yes.

Republicans did this. They wanted to use CHIP as a bargaining position and play chicken with little kids. So here we are. Repugnant aholes.

Dems voted against a CR for this solely because of DACA, not because they were opposed to funding the gov't. It's just as absurd and objectionable as R's tying the CR to defunding Obamacare previously.

if I was working for the gov, I think this would be a sign to get a real job in private industry.

who would stay working for gov with this budgeting process? you can't actually be producing anything of value, if you can be shutdown on a days notice. must be all make work, paper pushing.

Let’s start with Paul Ryan? You seem dumb enough to hold him in high regard.

OMB Director and Trump Right Hand Mick Mulvaney:

"I've heard a lot of arguments about unskilled labor and 10th grade education or whatever to get here. But if that were the case my family would not have gotten here from Ireland"

He goes on to day that this rhetoric is xenophobic and not in the long term interests of the GOP.

In 2013, he said it was the POTUS' responsibility to make sure a budget passed.

"The problems start from the top and have to get solved from the top," he said. "The president is the leader, and he's got to get everybody in a room and he's got to lead."

So why does Trump's resorts and R farmers keep hiring low skilled foreign workers, some who probably overstay their work visas and become illegal immigrants.
