| I am an affected parent and posted early on, then backed off when I smelled trolls. But I have to say, this reading this thread was very enlightening (and entertaining in a sick way) so thanks to all for giving me a few laughs throughout my work day! |
Darn I thought you were finally at acceptance and had run out of excuses to whine about. Denial - Check Anger - Check Bargaining - keep looking for that PU to sacrifice Depression - yup should have bought across 66 Acceptance - 12/14 |
Remind me again why this is whining. The homes in DH closest to Swanson are .3-.4mi door to door. The homes in DH furthest from Kenmore are over 2mi away. Why do you consider it whining to want our kids to walk a handful of minutes to the neighborhood school rather than being bused further away? The same scenarios would do the same thing to kids who now can walk to Jefferson or Kenmore. Truly. Why is this whining or racist rather than common sense? |
| 13:42: I really feel sorry for your child(ren) having to deal with your sociopathic attitude. |
| If MM and DH can help lower FARMS at Kenmore to a more reasonable level I agree it is a fair compromise to send them there. |
Remind me again why Buckingham kids get bused to Swanson when they could walk .5 miles to Jefferson? Oh if they help Swanson diversity then MM and DH can help Kenmore. |
"Compromise" with whom? |
Wouldn't it just be a little longer trip in the morning and afternoon to make a real difference in FARMS at Kenmore? That sounds like a fair "Compromise" for DH and MM to make. |
Exactly. The community needs to be loud and uncompromising on this. |
A compromise means two or more parties give a little to reach an agreement. The term you are looking for is "sacrifice." Consult a dictionary.

They don't care. They don't have to put their kids on a bus and their school gets better by sacrificing other kids. They just don't give a crap. They bought in a high poverty area and now are tilting at windmills to turn their investments around. |
Please take that malarkey to the real estate forum. We are discussing Arlington Public Schools. Families are guaranteed an education in APS when they move to Arlington, nothing more. |
Cool. You're guaranteed an education at Kenmore. Nothing more. No need to bus in kids who are 2 blocks away from another school. |
| Is the Kenmore PTA mobilized around this issue? It sounds like they should be fighting hard to get as many PUs from North Arlington as possible. |
