You mean the parents of the kids who got in a car with a driver they knew was drinking? That's all the info I'd need. Then I'd blame myself for not saying for millionth +1 time: NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!!! (Which 100% includes DO NOT GET INTO A CAR WITH A DRIVER WHO HAS BEEN DRINKING). Sad all around but the passengers should not have gotten in the car.

Yes but again, there are parents here who not only allowed a party in their house with underage drinking, they did not take away the keys to the kid's cars to avoid the drunk "but I am not drunk and can drive" situation that killed and injured these kids.

So what's going on with the investigation of the fatal car crash?

People may suddenly decide to start talking to the investigators now that the school principal has suddenly died at such a young age for a healthy man of 64. The hell with all the "lawyered-up" families.

By all accounts, he is truly irreplaceable. People with his dedication and ethics don't really exist anymore in the public school system. This man seems to have cared more about the kids, than many of the actual parents do. Bless him and his family. I think he sacrificed his life for that school.

A memorial service for Wootton High School principal, Dr. Michael Doran, will be today 6-9pm on the school's athletic field.

His sudden death is a tragic loss not only for the students and their parents, but for the wider community as well. He held them together in a most extraordinary way, as no one else could have. We are deeply indebted to him for his heroic accomplishments and profound compassion.

Sure. Two deaths in a 110 mph wreck swept under the carpet. Just waiting for the normal process to play out. It will get to the grand jury when they have time to hear the case.

These things don't happen fast, normally about 6 months.

This really touched me and I think about all who were involved often. Are the driver and survivor mentally okay? Has the driver fully recovered physically? Are both in school? Are the families of the boys that died doing okay? Are the friends okay and are they more conscious about drinking? Does the host of the party feel any guilt?

Not looking for answers, just things that keep running thru my mind.

18 months in Jail for a teen drunk driving accident that killed one youth from Sherwood HS and permanently injured another. Is it enough?

Start jailing the parents who provide the alcohol/party venue, and we'll see a precipitous drop in teenage drunk driving.

According to the Bethesda Magazine website the investigation has concluded and Investigators are planning to meet with Prosecutors at the end of this month or early October to discuss what charges if any will be brought.

Normal countries allow teens to drink, but not drink and drive.

If any? There better be multiple. The driver AND the parents that had the party.
