How many days has your child been absent from school this year? |
DS1:
Absent 2 days (one Jewish holiday, and one sick) Late 3 days (one Jewish holiday, one doctor appointment, and one not feeling well) DS2: Absent 1 day (Jewish holiday) Late 3 days (one Jewish holiday, two doctor appointments) Lately, I have given up trying to schedule all dentist, doctor, orthodontist, etc. outside of school hours. |
Last year he missed 22 days because he had surgery twice. We are at 7 this year. Same medical issue. |
7 days for my 8th grader. It is the most number of days absent he has ever had. He had a week long fever at the beginning of the year. |
My first-grader missed two days, both for illness. |
Nobody keeps for cold with fever? That is like 5 day for most kids. |
3 for 5th grader, 2 for 7th grader, all for illness. There will be one more for my 7th grader coming up, for an extracurricular. |
I’m 8:07. I follow school sickness rules. I would not send to school with fever. |
Not every kid gets sick with a fever. DS, 6, has missed 3 days this year. One due to a death in the family, two due to illness. One was a fever and one was strep with no fever. |
My kids rarely get sick and have never been sick for 5 days in a row. This year, my 2nd grader didn't miss any days and my 5th grader missed 3, all for visiting middle schools. |
Like 10 days for illness. It’s been a rough year. |
My 2nd grader has averaged 5-6 days each year. She just gets sick in the fall, and I'm one of those "Go to school anyway and if you still feel sick, you can leave early" parents (she's never left early.) She hasn't missed any days since November. |
10 days for sports competitions and 2 for illness. |
7 for travel, 1 for sickness
1st grade |
maybe 3 for my third grader, plus 2 late arrivals (doctors appts)
no idea for my preschooler, but more than that. |
