Three days for travel and no sick days.
Perfect attendance last year. He’s been lucky. I think it is the luck of the draw. |
5 travel days for my 2nd and 5th graders. I think maybe they've each been sick a day, can't really remember. |
6 days for travel |
My kids haven't had a fever that long since they were babies. Usually, a fever lasts a day or so. More that a day is really rare. DS1: 2 days (one sick and one for Kid's Day) DS2: 2 days (one sick and one for Kid's Day)/1 late for doc appt |
DS1 - 17yo - 3 days (stomach bug, a quick doctor's appointment turned into labs & x-rays, and one personal day to travel with mom for work). He's been tardy twice, both for medical appointments and has been picked up early four times the same reason. However, his last period class every other day is a study hall, so that's been nice to utilize for early pick up days.
DS2 - 15yo - 4 (fought a terrible cold with a fever that wouldn't stay gone). He's been tardy once and picked up early once for medical appointments. DD - 11yo - 2 (fever, stomach bug). No tardies but one early pick up for a dentist appointment. I really try to schedule medical appointments early in the morning or late afternoon so they don't miss too much if going in late or leaving early. They all seem pretty average for my gang. Each usually averages 3-4 days. |
My 15 yo has missed one day due to illness.
My 12 yo has missed three days. The first two were because she was feeling under the weather and the last was due to holiday related travel. |
Am I the only one who doesn't keep count? I have no idea. Maybe around 6? |
In some parts of the U.S., all kids are given Jewish holidays off. |
0 most years, never more than 1. |
I have no idea how many times my kids have been out. Between trips, Dr appts and sickness it’s been a lot. Never thought to keep track. |
4th grader: 2-3 days (?) when he had a stomach virus
The preschooler has missed more, but it’s not real school anyway. |
My 7th grader has recurring strep and has missed about 11 days. |
7th grader has missed 3 days. One was an extracurricular opportunity. The other two were illness. |
7th Grader - 8 days. 4 travel, 4 sick |
Wow...I’m a sahm and keep my kid home for fevers, stomach aches, etc. find it hard to believe that so many children never needed more than a day or two off for illness. |
