It ended when I found a girlfriend. I was sleeping with an older married woman when I was in my 20s. Sex was great. She was very, very upset when I broke it off. But not much she could do about it.

They ended up divorcing years later

I am the married one. I ended it recently after 3 years. He was married when we met. There were too many cultural issues for it to ever work.

Do you love her? Do you want her forever? Did you have other lovers if you were the non-married person?

We’ve been married for most of that time.

Single woman here with married man. I ended it after 4 months. Initial attraction was purely physical on both ends. But I discovered quickly that I’m not wired that way, and for him it was also turning into an EA as much as a PA—more intimacy for both of us than expected. More risk of fallout and pain for all parties.

Ended it by text—explained what I did above, pretty much, thanked him, and told him I had only good thoughts of him and isn’t that the best place to end it. He didn’t respond, but a month later he messaged me that he liked my dress (he drove by me walking). Left that one alone.

I’m grateful for it. I’d had no plans to date just wanted to meet physical needs. He reminded me, briefly, of the other pieces I was missing and that dating again would be worth it.

Can’t speak for him, but I’d think this is about as good an ending as possible for an affair (though he’d probably have preferred to be the one walking away). No drama ending and I never told a soul until this post. He loves his family. If he’s smart he kept his mouth shut and turned his energy toward them and toward his marriage.

Three years is hell of a long time. How did you keep it from your husband? Was your AP upset when you broke it off?

It never ended. The story is now a Lifetime movie, "Scorned and Vengeful"

I was late 20's and she was late 30's without any children and married to an early 50's CEO. She was definitely a trophy wife/arm candy and while she enjoyed the lifestyle she was pretty miserable. The affair lasted about a year and then I moved to take a new job. We parted as friends but I've had no contact with her since then. She is still married to him which is a big surprise but I'm sure she found someone to take my place.

Did you have genuine feelings for her?

I liked her a lot because she was beautiful, fun and smart but I can’t say I had genuine feelings. The relocation was a great excuse to end it without it ending ugly. I don’t think she had real feelings for me either.
