The state AG's office is now investigating the practices of the MCPS athletic staff over the past 6 years. I hope that that a criminal conviction comes out of this for the adults.

It’s the local State’s Attorney (prosecutor) investigating, not the State AG, but yes, an investigation is happening. |

THANK GOODNESS!! This absolutely needs to happen.
I look forward to getting an email from Jack Smith about this! Or, maybe the Area Superintendent can put out a cheery, optimistic tweet on the investigation in true MCPS fashion. |
| I hope they expand the investigation to include the central office and other schools. The problems with MCPS staff not protecting kids and encouraging toxic environments goes beyond Damascus. |

Defense attorney Brown claims that high schoolers might not know that hazing (you know, “brooming”) is wrong. How can she be taken seriously? |
Thank you. |
The Montgomery County state’s attorney, not the Maryland attorney general. |
Thank you. |

Anyone? |
| Scratch a bit deeper and I’d wager rich W parents are working with these coaches to get their kids into Yale, Cornell and the like on rowing or lacrosse scholarships. |
What would make you think that? BTW Rowing is not a varsity sport in MCPS. |
Not many families in Montgomery County have the money to do what Felicity Huffman and others did. They paid millions of dollars. |
| There are other schools with deep seeded problems in their athletic programs that athletic directors, principals, and Central Office ignore even when athletes are brave enough to come forward to report. MCPS should request a consultant to review the toxic climate and rituals across all schools if they truly cared about the wellbeing of students. |
