FPYC is not a elite club with so many surrounding clubs i'm suprised the club lasted this long. If you have to go on Urbanmom for recruiting then that says it all. Stating my "opinion".
For 2008 girls... try BRYC.... Annandale Villarreal is right down the street from Fairfax very close. Plus they are NPL not NCSL. Nobody doesn NCSL anymore. If my comment is taken down for suggesting other clubs then that also says how pity FPYC is. |
| BRYC 2008 team is not strong. They do not even participate in a league and have lost their last 7 tournament games. |
| Man you must have an ax to grind. What's up your a-s? If you need to post this on DCUM, what does that say about you? Ya Sorry POS.. With that out of the way...This team is good. Coach Glenn is a very very good coach. You don't need CCL or NPL to develop. I highly recommend that you attend a try out if you have an 08 girl who is looking around. |
| The nasty commenter is an FCV parent. They played NCSL in the fall but dropped playing in NCSL this spring. When he says nobody does NCSL anymore he means FCV. |
Enjoy spending many extra thousands of dollars at an elite club and travelling near and far to play teams not much different than those in your backyard. Good luck with that and hope your kid remembers it as an enjoyable experience. NPL and a few dollars will buy you a cup of coffee. |
Glenn is a very good coach and there are lots of players who would be lucky to have him. There is really no reason to post such a smear about a club or a team in this way. Hopefully nobody does report the thread so that they can see what petty assholes are out there. |
Alot of sock puppets! PP gave a suggestion. |
| My daughter's team played against this FPYC team in the WAGs tournament. They are well-coached and tried to play possession instead of resorting to kickball as many teams do. |
Ok we get it FPYC is one of the best soccer clubs in NOVA. When you think of soccer first one to come to mind is FPYC |
No one said that, just that this team is pretty good, and well coached. That's it. The fact that you are so threatened by this one team of U11 girls that you feel the need to come on here and post comments like that is really pathetic. |
Hate to say it but your comment sounds worse than the original comment. I'm sure you want people to come to your club but you must admit it's not a known place to Create superstars. If your child really wants to play soccer and take it serious yes I would go to another club in the area but if you want your child to just learn the basics and not have high level competition then go to FPYC. You are clearly part of the association if you really care about your team then make them strong, your CURRENT players and mold him into great players whom would leave you with a good track record instead of trying to recruit people. A good club will always have a good reputation, and FPYC is not one of them.

| anyone that thinks your kid needs to be on the top team or club at the U11 age in order to be a "superstar", as someone said above, clearly doesnt have older children as soccer players at the travel club level. |
| and to add to the above- those that are shunning this club are clearly one of those parents that wants others to see their kid playing at a top, well known club- its for the parent and has nothing to do with the kids |

I don’t have skin in the game for FPYC, but some of the replies here are just mean spirited and misguided.
Not sure everyone wants “superstars.” Some folks just want their kid to play soccer, have fun, learn under a decent coach, and have a short commute to practice and home games. Also, touting NPL as some sort of “better” league is completely clueless or dishonest. CCL isn’t much better and both require a few long distance matches for no real benefit. NCSL is better run, doesn’t have the club v. club scheduling snafus and generally has less travel. All three leagues suffer from the fact that there are three leagues thus watering down the competition amongst them. Anyhow, the OP was just posting information which was one of the original purposes of this forum before it became the “real parents of DC area” reality show that it is today. There was no recruiting, it was a simple posting of information. Man, some people are really threatened by others. |
