| Question for any SolidCore devotees out there. I've been taking classes 2-3 times per week for nearly a year and love what it's done for my arms and my legs. For my abs though, I feel like my middle section has gotten thicker, not slimmer. I don't have much fat on me (I'm 5' 6" and 115 lbs) and I have some definition, but overall my mid-section seems to be getting thicker. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Is there something I should be doing differently? |
| By thicker, do you mean wider? Oblique work can do that. My abs are definitely more three dimensional than when I started, and probably a bit wider, but I don't think I've gained any inches (have been taking 2-3 classes/week for a little over two years). |
More like they stick out more between my hip bones but it’s not a paunch. It’s muscle, not fat. I feel like other workouts hollowed me out there and Solid Core might be filling me in, if that makes any sense. I put on muscle pretty fast so it may just be that I’m prone to it with moves like we do in SolidCore. It won’t stop me from going—I just wondered if anyone was experiencing something similar. |
| I go pretty regularly and have done so for almost three years. I have not had what you describe happen. My waist has become more defined, and even my rib cage, which had been sort of widened by a multiples pregnancy, has gone back to its pre-pregnancy shape. I have overall experienced toning and lengthening of my muscles, not really bulking or bulging, but I have also been incorporating regular cardio into my routine. |
No, I get it. That's my experience, too, and I also build muscle pretty easily. I've been asked if I Crossfit, and no, my strength training is limited to solidcore. Cardio, too, but this is just what my body does with reasonably intense strength training. Filling in abs is a good way to describe it! |
