Do they now say-never mind we have 3 openings again lol

So what happens if there are sped and counselor openings? What happens to the kids that need services? Do they just go without? It's not like they can put a sub in those positions.

Bulk discounts only apply to orders of 10 or more signs.

I believe with counselors the other counselors take on the case load, meaning even more burnout for the remaining counselor.

For SPED, they can and do put subs in those positions if they can manage to find a sub who will do it. The other special ed teachers divide up the students who don’t have case managers and add them to their already full caseloads.

+1, our school was supposed to have two counselor last year, and they only had one so that one counselor did all the work resulting in us almost never having lessons for the entirety of the year.

We had a special education opening last year and it was covered by subs the last 2.5 months of school.

Very kind subs. Sub pay is very low and comes with no benefits. You're on your own health wise if you are hurt by a special Ed student.

Good. Their whole group lessons usually suck anyway.

Wish they did more about bullying.

+1 they take away time from actual instructional time too. Complete waste of time all around.

DP. Our counselors did a great job addressing bullying and working with kids who were bullied. A lot of administrators want "restorative justice" and refuse to give consequences to bullies even when they're repeat offenders. No wonder there's a lot of counselor positions open.

The SPED team have the work piled on with little to no extra support and you will seem more leave. It's sad. When I left SPED the admin didn't even ask me why....they knew and the county has no desire to fix issues so the shortage will continue specifically in SPED and counseling...and actually all this will spill on to general education teachers because they will not receive the support they need in their over sized classrooms....rinse and repeat.

Also subs can't do the paperwork part so that is put on other SPED teachers.
