What's your "all-in" savings status if you are in your early 40s (40-45)? Assuming no kids yet in college but saving for 2. So, this would be the total held in all brokerage account, IRA/401ks, 529s, etc.
|
| $2.5 million. |
| About $300k in total savings. HHI $89k. |
|
43, divorced parent.
Retirement Savings--~$550k Other savings--~$115K 529s--about $33k for two kids (7 and 4). Their dad also has accounts for them. |

We are 41 and 43, kids are 4 and 7.
Retirement: $1.04M 529s: $80K Mutual Funds/Stocks: $183K Checking/Savings: $51K All in: $1.354M |
| I just turned 40. Husband is 38. We have 3 kids. We have 525k in retirement. About 30 K of that is college. Kids are young. |
Are you including home equity? If so, we're about $2.5m. |
| a million (without home equity) |
| About 1.1M without home equity. 45 and 43, kids 11 and 13. |
| 3 million, excluding home equity |
|
With home equity:
Home equity - 500K on a 2M house 529 - 18K in one 529 (3 year old); 5k in one 529 (8 month old) - we contribute $750 a month to each Retirement - 700K Brokerage/Savings - 115K We are 39 and 34. Probably should have built up more savings before taking on such a big house but such is life. |
|
About $600k in retirement, plus stock and options. Husband has more, but I'm not sure how much.
I make about $250, husband about 400 so HHI about 650. Early 40s. |
I was not including home equity. |
Wow. |
AND my $600 is retirement and broker/savings. Strictly 401K/IRAs alone is less than $350k. |
